First Lady Michelle Obama helped little ones get in the holiday spirit on Thursday during a Washington DC event for the Marine Corps Toys For Tots campaign. Carrying a red sack over her shoulder like old Saint Nick, Michelle delivered donated toys and gifts to kids, mingling with volunteers and military personnel. It's the latest in a series of fun holiday events for the first family, as the Obamas have celebrated Christmas all month long with the national tree lighting, a TV special, and a kids' reception.
During Thursday's annual toy drive, held at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Michelle thanked the military families, saying, "Most people don't understand that you do all of this service on top of all the challenges that you face as service members and military families. And that's the example that I think the rest of the country needs to see — that even in the midst of your challenges, you find a way to give back to those less fortunate."
