Nicole Richie gets her hands dirty for a good cause. Hi, I'm Allie Merriam. We caught up with Nicole Richie, who's now made it for one of Bing's Do Something awards as she showed off her philanthropic spirit in New York City. Get the details in today's PopSugar Rush. We are here celebrating the Bing Summer of Doing and what we're doing today is we are restoring a mosaic that was actually created after 9/11 to really just celebrate the diversity of the community. It's so great to see all these kids come together, helping out their community and and just to see everybody outside and just really giving back it's a really cool thing to see. Nicole recently wrapped up a stay in Australia where it's a little chilly but she nonetheless had some tips for how to stay chic in the New York City heat. Get a light t-shirt like I'm wearing right now, put your hair in a ponytail which is something that I wish that I have had right now. Yeah. and I don't know, just have fun, be yourself. Yeah. Nicole's down under keeping her husband Joel Madden company wile he works on the Australian version of The Voice. With all the jet-setting between continents, Nicole knows exactly what she needs to have in her purse at all times. I always have bobby pins, I have my phone and sunglasses. Yeah. And jet-setting seems to be a theme as fellow attendee supermodel Karlie Kloss said she never leaves home without her passport. Well, I actually just flew in last night. I had breakfast in Paris, lunch in London, and dinner in New York. I never leave home without my passport, and I don't know. Everything else you can kind of pick up along the way, but your passport, that you need. Yeah. Traveling is just part of the job for Karlie, who one of the worlds most in demand models. But if she wasn't, she would be just like the dogooders out today. If I weren't modeling I think I'd be one of the teenagers Cuz that was going out into the community and being part of something like this. It's always a treat to see celebrities fitting in philanthropy between their trips to far flung locales. and find out if Nicole wins that Do Something award when the show airs on Tuesday, August 21st on VH1. I'm Allie Miriam. Thanks for watching Pop Sugar Rush.
