I hate to say it but does anyone think that at this point some of the actors that are showing up to "support" the writers are actually just trying to get good publicity for themselves? It seems like its becoming the popular thing to do (bringing them lunch etc.) Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the WGA deserves what they're asking for, but maybe some of the celebrity endorsers seem not-so-genuine.

I see this ending soon. There is no way the networks want to lose all the money they're probably going to lose if this strike goes on much longer. People are going to start renting more movies or watching movie channels because who wants to sit and watch a bunch of re-runs? Re-runs are cool during the day when you're cleaning or cooking or something, but at night you make time for your favorite shows because you want to see what happens next. I love Grey's and The Office, but I don't want to sit and watch the same episodes over and over. Ok, maybe The Office, but not Grey's.

I read somewhere that these guys are in talks to coming to a compromise and that it will 'hopefully' be all sorted out soon!

The Office already fired all their staff. When this is resolved and they want to resume production, there is no guarantee that the fired people will be available to that show, so they probably need to hire and train some new people.I believe that's why David Letterman is paying all his production people out of his own pocket until the end of the year. He can be up and running as soon as the strike is over, with the people who have worked for him for many years. Of course if the strike goes far into the new year, it might not still be an option.

"And I'm wondering too, will shows resume filming when the strike ends, or will we have to wait until NEXT YEAR?"If the strike ends soon, they will resume filming, but they will have to re-hire all of the behind the scenes talent that makes the show possible. If the strike lasts into January or February and effects pilot season, then you wont see NEW shows until 2009 (no new fall season...it would be delayed until January most likely).

I am thrilled at the turnout for the rally!!! It is a small sacrifice for the viewers to make to support the writers who create the shows we love while they fight for their fair share of the internet pie. I love that Sandra Oh is right in front leading the charge. And YES to peace signs too!!!

This sucks! I hate that these people aren't getting paid the money they deserve, but how am I supossed to get through my week without The Office? :] And I'm wondering too, will shows resume filming when the strike ends, or will we have to wait until NEXT YEAR?
