Hi! My name is Michelle! Happy to be here with you guys! My comment is on the movie "dreamgirls". I have seen this movie three times already. I love it for everything it stands for. I think it's a fantastic movie, one definitely worthy of a nod. But I don't think Eddie, or Jamie, or Beyonce or anyone in this movie was shocked that they were left out for best picture. It's a "clique" thing in hollywood. And "we" as a people have not yet arrived! Equality-----is still yet to be achieved, but injustice is alive and well. Have a great day everyone! hugs!

I so want Abigail Breslin to win!! :D Im all for Jennifer Hudson winning and shaming Beyonce, but Abigail is just so lovely and she was really amazing. And Will deserves the best actor so much.

people really can't pick up on sarcasm. it's not a new thing. just look at jonathan swift's "a modest proposal". or look at the one blog i've ever posted. people just don't get it unless you put something at the end which says you're just kidding. aw, poor jonathan swift. he had no emoticons to express his facetiousness. :'(

Congrats to Eddie and Jennifer on their nominations! I'm so thrilled for both of them. I'm pleased about the other nominations Dreamgirls got too! I'd love to see Will Smith take best actor but it will probably be Forest Whitaker

I thought Leo was great in Blood Diamond, that movie kept me VERY interested the entire time. I think Leo has been nominated more then any actor ih his genre and never even won a GG? He was great in "Catch me if You Can", not sure if he was nominated for that, but what I like about him is that he can do any role. He is a very clever actor, and I would love for him to win. I do think Forrest Whitaker will win, and he is well deserving too. He has been a great actor and director throughout the years. I think Helen Mirren will win best actress, J Hus id the shoe in for sup. actress, Forrest for best actor, Departed best film, and Scorsese as best director. Not too sure on supporting actor, but I think I am going with Walberg.

Babel was a great movie. My husband loves all of Brad's movies. He is a good actor, and d*m good looking. Angelina is very lucky.

Beyonce is NOT a good actress and that is why she was not nominated.

nearnorth, once in a while they do that with best picture to sort of lighten things up. think of "Babe" in '95 or "Full Monty" in '97.

Beyonce wasn't anywhere near the calibre of the ladies who scored noms in best actress. No where close. She never should have even been nominated for a Golden Globe. There's no racism at work here, just good common sense. And I was glad to see Jackie Earle Haley nominated.

I just hope Martin Scorsese wins for Best Director. :crosses fingers:

Children of Men should have had WAY more noms, including Best Picture. Little Miss Sunshine was great and the actors in it definitely deserve some nominations, but Best Picture it was not. Replace LMS with CoM and I'd be happy.

I think the Best Actress category is perfect...I actually had written those ladies names down on a post-it note 3 weeks ago as the women I wanted to see nominated. I am really excited that Ryan Gosling was nominated. He has gotten rave reviews, but it was such a small film that didn't get much press. On CNN they had filed him under "Deserves to be nominated, but doesn't have a chance". Children of Men got a nomination for cinematography. Woo hoo! That movie is amazing, and the cinematograher was brilliant. I sometimes couldn't breathe because I really felt like I was there. Its very intense, and really deserved the nomination.

I am surprised that DiCaprio's mediocre performance in Blood Diamond got a nomination. I am also surprised by Streep's nomination. I guess this is one instance where name recognition went a long way. I am very happy that Gosling was nominated for Half Nelson as his performance was excellent. However, the real winner here is Forest Whittaker. He is excellent in The Last King of Scotland and deserves to win this one.

Ok, I'll say it. I think it's funny that Beyonce didn't get nominated. I laughed. Her acting is mediocre at best, does she think that everything she does deserves praise and recognition? I hope that she's somewhere with her arms in the air, crying while her daddy tells her how amazing she is. Maybe he'll buy her an Oscar for her birthday.

i'd be happy if will won, but i have issues with someone winning because they lost in a previous year. nicole kidman is a prime example -- she lost for 'moulin rouge' and wasn't nominated for 'to die for' but won for an inferior performance in 'the hours' instead of julianne moore taking the statue home. same with judi dench who was snubbed in '97 but won the next year for an 8-minute(!) role in 'shakespeare in love'. not saying will doesn't deserve it for happyness, btw.

The thing with meryl streeps performance is that you completely forget that its Bridges of Madison County-esq Meryl. She does such a good job at playing Miranda that u begin to think that she's like Anna Wintour from Vogue.
