Boyhood has been getting raves for its innovation, and by now, you know that it took 12 years for the film to be completed. But there's so much more than just years that went into the making of the film, about a modest Texas family, and when Oscar-nominated star Patricia Arquette came to the annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon, she revealed even more of what was so complicated about the filmmaking. Primarily, the actors couldn't be kept under contract for more than seven years — a fact that director Richard Linklater was OK with.
