Paul Rudd isn't just about playing the jokester — in fact, he takes on a much more serious role in this week's quirky dramedy Prince Avalanche, which also stars Emile Hirsch. In the film, Rudd plays Alan, an introverted road worker and would-be intellectual who brings his girlfriend's brother with him into the wilderness to repair a country road after it has been ravaged by a wildfire. We chatted with Rudd about taking on the straight-man role, working with Hirsch, and how he avoided getting into hipster territory with his mustachioed character. Watch the interview for more from Rudd, and be sure to catch Prince Avalanche when it opens in limited release this week.
