UGH! So it's a Lakers-Celts match-up. Freaking great. As a Laker fan I'm a little too young to remember the Showtime Lakers against Larry's Celtics, but as a Charger fan and human being in general I have nothing but hate for all Boston sports teams. I think The Lakers have a better match-up against the Celts (who the heck is going to be assigned to LO? Perkins or KG? Then the other gets Gasol? Fish > Rajon; Sasha can irritate the heck out of Allen; the Space Cadet will be ignored as usual and hopefully take advantage of that like he did against the Spurs (I like the spot-up J's and treys but he is great at cutting and driving to the basket every now and then to keep defenses honest; but most of all they have to establish their spacing of the Triangle early, be committed to crisp ball movement (their assist avg was down a little against the Spurs) and not jump passing lanes or sag too much on D - you can make KG settle for J's and not try to get in the paint by getting a little physical with him, draw some cheap fouls on Perkins and Pierce and stop Rajon from going left more easily than Manu (and they did a great job of that against him)) but because nothing is a given I'd've rather seen Detroit because, whilst I dislike them a lot too, they were the lesser of two evil and if the Lakers do lose it wouldn't be as bad as to Boston and their bandwagon fans (for the record I know the Lakers have a lot of bandwagon fans this year too - all those stupid little flags are everywhere in LA and I've seen too many in San Diego - and I generally dislike them too). As far as the Spurs argument going on, I think someone else (or a couple of people) pointed out that, yes, it may have been an on-the-floor foul against Fish, BUT the call on the play previously was botched (Fish's shot CLEARLY hit the rim, so the shot-clock should have been reset. Sorry but the ball doesn't change rotation on direction at will in the air without something touching it), that goal tending call on LO was bogus (clean block, watch it in replay), the refs let Duncan waltz down the lane from the top of the freaking key with the ball in his hand, they didn't call jack on Bowen, etc. clearly hitting Kobe over his arms and on his elbows when shooting (you can only touch the hands because they are part of the ball) and while Bowen can defend Kobe well NO ONE is magically perfect against him. Please. Besides if, and I know this is a wild thought, the Spurs had played a little better during the game maybe they wouldn't have had to rely on the refs to bail them out. I know, radical, huh? All that said the Spurs handled the whole situation and series with a lot of class. A lot more than I expected - there were no blatant cheap shots only the standard Bowen placing his foot/leg out where the jumpshooter should land to try to break their ankles and Duncan's elbows into the face/neck of his defender when playing face-on. And as far as the Lakers whining to the refs about the fouls, please. What about Duncan looking to refs repeatedly when he doesn't draw a foul or when one is called on him (I think Duncan is probably one of the best 4's to ever play - I know he is a 'tweener 4-5 but because of Robinson, he'll always be a 4 in my mind - and I have a lot of respect for him but he does act like he's never committed a foul, ever), or Ginobili or Parker flopping around the floor like they've been shot and grabbing their heads when they've been bumped in the shoulder/whatever after almost every shot to try to draw a foul or them always whining and appealing to the refs when one is called against them? What about all of that. No team is more whiney than another - save for possibly the Suns (sorry, it was too easy, I had to go there).

GO LAKERS!!! If lakers had lost to the spurs, i would want the spurs to win the championships, because it would says a lot more about a team who lost to the best. the spurs had the lead by almost 20 in two games and they couldn't close the lakers out, game 4 the spurs were at the line almost 30 times, 26 points came from free throws, they're lucky they even won that game... how is it possible that Kobe (mvp) is not fouled once in 2 games?! if the argument is about fisher fouling barry, which was not a shooting foul, but what about duncans obvious travel and Fisher's shot hitting the rim where the clock should've been reset and the remaining time belonging to the lakers, kobe not being fouled once in 2 games and averaging 29 points, or the obvious charge on Duncan that was called a block, what about the block of Parker's layup that was called goal-tending? kill the noise you haters... the spurs and their coach thought the games were called fair (no kidding!) why are you whining if they are not?

the funny part is she gave the security the look of death and he went up to get her, the coyote acted like he fainted when she walked pass, i was like this girl is not gorgeous but hey she is famous, she was very playful with the coyote allowed her friends to go before her she acknowledged her fans, they were two little girls

She seems sweet...that is why I feel guilty for disliking her so much...but I can't help it! I love the security detail...like you are SO famous you will be MOBBED at the hot dog stand? LOL. I love Horry too, I met him a few times when he was in LA and he was always super polite and classy. And I will ALWAYS love him for the ridiculous shot he made for us against the Kings.

she is actually very sweet i sat on the same level as she did at one of the regular season games the against the sonics, she just annoyed me she was way to busy chatting it up with two of her girlfriends, she needed security to escort her during half time, it was ridiculous she made a big scene just to make sure eyes were on her, she has a huge head or her hair is huge, i love robert horry i met him my brother is the master mechanic at bmw, he called me knowing i would fly over there is is the sweetest man, he talked about his special needs child

EW. That is reason enough to not like the Spurs...Eva Longoria. She bugs. I don't know why she bugs me so much...she might be a really nice person but she just drives me nuts! Anyone else feel this irrational dislike of her?

you noticed pinkflats, chitown we will have to wait for next year but the way the spurs are playing thats not going to happen, we need younger bench players, barry was a good asset to the game i cannot believe pop would sit him out while he was on fire, robert horry i love the man but he needs to retire he has done enough for the rockets the lakers and the spurs

YAY for sportssugar! And I'm so happy to see there are so many other female sports fan. I'm obsessed with sports and don't have any female friends who share my interests. Anyway, Just because the celtics beat the lakers twice this season doesn't mean they'll beat them in the finals. The first time the lakers played the celtics it was earlier in the season before the lakers really came together as a team, the second time was just a horrible game and I blame the short shorts the lakers had to wear! And yes, everyone has bad games so it was just a coincidence that the lakers lost that night (but I really do think the short shorts had something to do with it, they all looked so uncomfortable and awkward and they said they felt naked). Celtics have had bad games this season too. Anyone remember when they lost to the charlotte bobcats and minnesota timberwolves? The regular season means nothing at this point. The Mavericks won 67 games last year but that didn't mean anything when they got eliminted in the first round by the 8 seed golden state warriors.

Pink! Yay! We have kissed and made up! I know how much it sucks when your team gets so close...especially when you are used to such a high standard of success. If we can get this board to get along...I think there is hope for the Middle East & the Democrat party, no?
