Photos of Drew Barrymore Out in NYC With Friends

Drew Has Lots of Love for Barack, Not So Much for Justin

Drew Barrymore gets into the election season spirit on the cover of November's Harper's Bazaar. Like lots of other celebrities, she wants to encourage young people to vote while at the same time she endorses Barack Obama. Drew also opened up to the magazine about finding herself after turning 30, saying:

"My priorities have changed so much. I've been single for months now, and I've turned my attention toward my passions, my friends, and the causes I believe in. I've learned to put myself second. I've had a couple fun, frolicky relationships, but really, I got out of a five-year relationship and I dated a few people here and there. Mostly it's been about learning who I am, not through a man, but for myself. I've been spending time with my friends and doing more traveling with the UN and challenging myself at work. I'm so happy with where my priorities are right now."

That seems like she's glossing over her relationship with Justin after they were so happy together, but now Drew has other guys and political drama to hold her attention.

As much as I'm a big fan of Drew's, she'll have a steady man in a few months and gush over how much she loves that guy. It is kind of annoying. About the politics, I liked what Shannen Doherty (she's Republican) said a few years ago. She said that to do your research on the candidates and see what they say about the issues you care about and pick the one that you think will do the most good. She wasn't shoving it down anyone's throat about who you should vote for. Just to do your research, pick a candidate and vote.

I completely agree jkat. Although I'm not American I've been following the elections and if I was licensed to vote I wouldn't vote for neither Obama or McCain. And all these celebrities supporting Obama is getting really, really annoying. It's almost propaganda, they're basically forcing people to vote for Obama. That being said, I'm glad Drew prioritizes herself before men, although she deserves to find that great man to settle down with.

@moviequeen; I find it amusing that you, as a McCain/Palin devotee, mention the Bush doctrine, considering that Sarah Palin doesn't seem to know what it is.

I like the cover, her skin looks wonderful. I think celebrities getting involved in politics is fair enough if they feel very strongly about it.

It's one thing to try to get people out there to vote and it's another to try to push who you're voting for onto someone else. I don't see anything wrong with celebs or whoever endorsing the importance of voting, but it's absurd when they start TELLING people who to vote for. Do these celebs really think that they are going to persuade anyone? 90% of celebs are egotistical drugged up losers. I think it's funny when I see them endorsing Obama.

Drew is beautiful, but that cover is way too "loud" like others have said. It seems like she had a harsh break-up with Justin, since she is basically saying that all of her relationships after her break-up with Fabrizio Moretti were just "for fun."

Drew looks totally amazing here, I just love her. I'm glad she's trying to get people out there to vote, I know there are a lot of people that think it doesn't make a difference and it's a good thing that people out there like her are getting out there to remind people that YOU CAN make a difference.

Drew looks beautiful, but in real life Drew is cute and sometimes barley that. It is just popular in Hollywood and in young America right now to vote Obama. I vote for whichever politician promises me they will not raise my taxes. And that probably means I will not vote because I know Obama has come out and said he wil reinstate taxes that have been canned and create more. I just don't like McCain.

One thing, I would truly like to know the real products that celebs use for their skin. Drew's skin still looks 18.

kitsey you are helping no one. Drew looks adorable. The cover is too loud. I think celebrities have the right to voice their political opinions, just as we have the right not to listen to them or take them seriously. I didn't support Huckabee in the primaries because Chuck Norris told me to, why would I support Obama just because Drew Barrymore told me to?

She looks great. However, ditto on the cover being too much and giving us a headache. She should have toned it down a bit.

OBAMA ROCKS AND YOU ALL KNOW IT. HE DID NOT GET WHERE HE IS BY GOOD SPEACHES ALONE. LOOK AT HIS BEAUTIFUL, SUCESSFUL, HAPPY FAMILY. HOW MANY PEOPLE IN HOLLYWOOD DOES MOVIEQUEEN EVEN KNOW? I WOULD HAVE TO SAY PROBABLY NO ONE! LOL. YOU ARE PRETTY FUNNY THOUGH. DREW HAS BEEN ROCKIN IT FOR MANY YEARS. QUIT BEING A HATER.

I like Drew Barrymore and I think she looks beautiful. I do think celebrities have the right to talk about their political stances but is there anyone in Hollywood who hasn't jumped on the Obama Bandwagon? Is there anyone in "young America" who hasn't jumped on the Obama Bandwagon (besides me)? I'm STILL undecided. Drew Barrymore isn't going to make me decide who to vote for.

It's sooooooo condescending to think that just because a person is a celebrity has they have no right to have a political opinion. They're adults, are American citizen, can vote. So YES they do have the right to have an opinion and express that opinion no matter how dumb it is.Last time i checked The US were a democracy, right? Now, what i find insufferable is that they use celebrities to encourage people to vote.In my opinion, they should use anonymous citizen for the sake of impartiality.everytime i see a commercial with a celeb encouraging people to vote, what i can implicitely hear is "you MUST vote...For Obama".I am myself supporting Obama but i'm also supporthing fairness and impartiality, total unbiasedness. And i find this all celebrity mess around Obama very annoying.
