Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan were among the famous faces who turned out last night for the opening of Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard's new play, Three Sisters, in NYC. The production, which also stars Malin Ireland, Jessica Hecht, and Dianne Wiest, marks Maggie and Peter's return to the stage since they starred in another Chekhov piece, Uncle Vanya, together in 2009. Carey had a night at the theater without her new guy Eddie Redmayne, but she luckily had Jake to keep her company during intermission. Jake's back on the East Coast after a stint soaking up the sunshine in LA, where the Vanity Fair cover guy spent quality time with his pals and dogs. It wasn't all about male and canine bonding, though, as there was rumored to be a new starlet who caught his eye.
