Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson were among the guests attending a champagne reception for the opening of Tom Everhart's Crashing the Party: The Arty-Fact Paintings at the Animazing Gallery in SoHo on Saturday night. The artist, who was a close friend of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, was on hand for the event, his largest ever with 95 paintings on display. She and Eric dressed up for the night out after Jessica was spotted shopping around town and lunching at Balthazar earlier in the day. The couple arrived in NYC on Thursday and have been out and about ever since, also enjoying dinner together on Friday. They were back on the town yesterday when they departed from their hotel in matching blazers. Jessica and Eric are in the midst of planning their upcoming nuptials, while Jess's ex Nick Lachey and his fiancée, Vanessa Minnillo, are doing the same. Nick's discovering just how expensive a wedding can be, recently tweeting that he's surprised at all the costs but happy to drop the cash marrying his bride-to-be.
