Pierce Brosnan's Daughter Passes Away

Pierce Brosnan Loses His Daughter to Ovarian Cancer

Pierce Brosnan's daughter, Charlotte, has passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 41, People confirms.

The actor released a statement today, saying, "On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, her children Isabella and Lucas and her brothers Christopher and Sean. Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

Charlotte and her brother Christopher were adopted by Pierce when he married their mother, Australian actress Cassandra Harris, in 1980. Cassandra sadly passed away in 1991 from ovarian cancer after battling the disease for four years. Pierce spoke about his late wife while promoting Love Is All You Need earlier this year, saying, "The memory of Cassie and her fight against cancer is never forgotten."
