Prince William is part of one of the most famous and wealthy families in the world, but that doesn't stop him from flying coach. The Duke of Cambridge was spotted seated in economy class (at a window seat, no less) on an American Airlines flight while leaving Memphis following his pal Guy Pelly's wedding. While the prince's budget travel move may surprise some royal fans, there is actually a pretty reasonable explanation. William, Prince Harry, and the Duchess of Cambridge typically cover all their travel for personal trips, like unofficial visits for vacations and friends' weddings. Back in 2011, Kate Middleton and William made headlines when they were spotted in coach on a Flybe plane during a trip from Edinburgh to Manchester for Zara Phillips's wedding. The young royals also must travel with an entourage of security guards, so flying in coach is usually the most cost-effective option for a larger group.
Harry was not spotted on the same plane as William as the two reportedly don't travel together on commercial flights to avoid being targeted by terrorists.
