Watch, Pass, or Rent Video Movie Review: Prometheus

Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron star in Prometheus, which hits theaters this weekend, but is it worth heading to the movies for? Check out my video movie review to find out if Ridley Scott's sci-fi flick is a watch, pass, or rent.

Hi, I'm Shannon Vestal, and in "Watch, Pass, or Rent" we're looking at "Prometheus." Set in the future, a group of researchers and scientists explore a planet hunting for the origins of mankind but find themselves hunted instead. Oh, no. The murals are changing. Charlie! David! We must leave now! Prometheus is the scariest movie I've seen in a long time, but the effects in the story are so well done that I can't recommend it more. Moving? These things moving? This is part of Ridley Scott's alien universe, but you don't need to have seen the other movies to understand or enjoy this one. It really stands alone because the script, the premise, and the characters are so great. Prometheus! Come in! I really like this cast, and while there is a main character played by Noomi Rapace, it's a true ensemble. I was impressed by a lot of the performances, especially Michael Fassbender, who's Perfect as an android who's suppose to be perfect and also Charlize Theron, who just turned in this amazing, villainous performance in "Snow White and the Huntsman" and she's doing it again in Prometheus. Had you raised the money yourself, Mr Holloway, we'd be pursuing your agenda. Ridley Scott is responsible for some of the most eye-popping, did-that-just-happen moments in movie history, and with Prometheus he really takes it to another level. There are images that I'm never going to get out of my head, stuff I'm still having nightmares about, but when you're screaming in the theater, you realize you can't top a movie experience like this. This movie is not for the squeamish, but the 3D looks so great the supporting cast was fantastic and I really think it's an instant sci-fi classic, so I have to give it a watch.

Rent. It was so disjointed. How much was this critic paid to recommend it?

Becky Kirsch Stay away! So many ridiculous moments... They said it has nothing to do with Alien. Well they lied! It's almost copy - paste on so many occasions. And I don't understand: Guys if you wanna do a pilot episode GO TO TV! If you put all that effort and money just respect your viewers and do something round and proper without having people wondering when the next episode is out! It starts so well... and after 2 hours you realized they never planned on explaining that first glorious scene, because it would be a completely different story! It was a monumental waste of money that damn ticket.
