Rita Ora was the woman of the hour at the Belvedere Cannes bash on Friday night. The singer and soon-to-be Fifty Shades of Grey star — who performed a handful of songs for a crowd that included Rosario Dawson, Jason Statham, and fellow recording artist Theophilus London — told us she's making the most of her first true experience at the film festival. Rita spent the day lounging on Roberto Cavalli's yacht before donning a black shimmery gown by the fashion designer — one of four outfits she sported during the evening's festivities — for the red carpet. With Fifty Shades of Grey around the corner, Rita will be making the jump from music to movies soon and told us she was "100 percent nerves" before going to work on the film. She also shared what hooked her on the book when she first read it. "Shock value is what I remember," she explained. "And for simply that reason, that book really just always stuck to me. And I don't think that anyone would forget the impact that made. Nor should they, because it's amazing." Stay tuned for our interview with Rita on next week's POPSUGAR Now!
