Taylor Swift was interviewed by Ryan Adams on the set of her GQ photo shoot, and the musicians talked about songwriting and a dream Taylor had about one of her exes. Ryan, who recently covered the 1989 album, asked Taylor whether she'd ever dreamt a lyric of a song, and she explained that it happened to her with 1989's "All You Had to Do Was Stay." She said, "I had a dream that my ex showed up at my door, knocked on the door, and I opened it up, and I was about ready to launch into the perfect thing to say. And instead, all that would come out of my mouth was that high-pitched chorus of people singing 'Stay.'" Watch more from the pair's conversation in the video above, and then check out a behind-the-scenes video from Taylor's shoot.
