Salma Hayek had a visit from her daughter, Valentina, on the set of Grown Ups 2 today in Massachusetts. They're in the town of Marblehead, where Salma's filming the comedy with costars Adam Sandler and David Spade. Salma's next project to hit theaters, the thriller Savages, is out July 6, and she discusses the film in next month's InStyle. The star graces the cover of the July issue in a tight dress, and inside, she opened up about keeping the romance alive with her husband, how she learns from her daughter, and what it takes to balance it all. Here's more from Salma Hayek in InStyle, which hits newsstands this Friday, June 15:
- On balancing her different roles in life: "As a working woman, you still have to do all the things you do in your everyday life and, you know, it adds up and gets to be a lot. I have created a very happy, healthy environment. This is who I am, and this is what I'm about. When a job is over, I go home to my life. Everything in my life right now is happiness."
- On her daughter Valentina: "This morning I was feeling jet-lagged. I was still in bed when I heard somebody run into the room. Valentina jumped on my bed and hugged me, and I go, 'What are you doing? You scared me!' She started giggling and said to me, 'You desperately needed my energy.' I was so surprised she said that. A 4-year-old! And she's holding me, and it's so beautiful — and she was so right!"
- On keeping romance alive with her husband: "He's very romantic, and so am I. What's really romantic are the moments that are unexpected. You can fly somewhere overnight to make [being together] 'important,' but it's the little things of everyday life that count. Sometimes a laugh can be very romantic — or taking care of the other person and being generous with each other."
