Bridesmaids' Chris O'Dowd escorts a new group of women at the big Cannes premiere of The Sapphires! Hey there, I'm Karli Bulnes. We speak with the stars of the much buzzed about film festival hit in today's PopSugar Rush! "After Bridesmaids and the success that it had I started getting offered a lot of things but they were mostly poor versions of Bridesmaids."/"I was very conscious of it and I needed to just go and do something totally different so a musical in Australia fit the bill." Chris O'Dowd, of Bridesmaids fame, is back fronting a new female-filled film! Set in 1968, the musical movie The Sapphires is about four singing sisters from Australia who go on tour performing for U.S. Marines in Vietnam. The Weinstein Company has bought the rights to distribute it, and it's set to be released in Australia in August. The ensemble cast sparkled on the red carpet of their big Cannes premiere on Saturday, an experience the cast and director Wayne Blair told our own PopSugar editor Allie Merriam was surreal. "It was an out of body experience!" "Going up the red carpet at the Palais/that was a special feeling, the three of us were a little bit speechless, come on Wayne relax, relax, and I was wondering do all those others, does Alec Baldwin go through that, does Brad Pitt go through that? Anyway, it happened to me." Brad Pitt is actually expected to hit Cannes tomorrow for the premiere of Killing Them Softly. We've got reporters on location so be sure to stay tuned for all our updates from the festival! I'm Karli Bulnes and thanks for watching PopSugar Rush!
