Tony Cruz's Walk-Up Song Is Matthew McConaughey's Chant

One Place You Didn't Think You'd Hear Matthew McConaughey's Wolf of Wall Street Chant

Apparently Matthew McConaughey's chest-beating chant from The Wolf of Wall Street really resonated with St. Louis Cardinals player Tony Cruz, because that's what played when Tony approached the plate this week. In the video above, you can hear Matthew's voice booming through the stadium as Tony gets ready to bat. The chant marked one of the more memorable moments in The Wolf of Wall Street, but it wasn't originally in the script — it's just something Matthew does to help himself focus. Producer Joey McFarland told us, "From what I understand, he does it not just on our film, but in everything he does." He added, "To give credit to Matthew, what was on the page was heightened to a whole new level without the chant. The chant was kind of the cherry on top."
