Tyra Banks Welcomes a "Miracle Baby" With Boyfriend Erik Asla

Tyra Banks is a mom! The model and former talk-show host welcomed a baby boy with her boyfriend, Erik Asla, and announced the exciting news via Instagram on Wednesday. Along with a photo of a tiny baby hat, Tyra wrote, "The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin." She went on to thank the surrogate who carried their child: "As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."

Baby York is the first child for the America's Next Top Model host and her Swedish photographer beau, who have been dating since 2013. Tyra opened up about her struggles with fertility on her now-canceled talk show FABLife in a conversation with Chrissy Teigen; back in September, the 42-year-old tearfully explained that by "putting off having children" for so many years, she may have hurt her chances of having a child of her own.

In a statement to People on Wednesday, Tyra gushed about her new bundle of joy, saying, "The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I've shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik." She added, "As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day." Congratulations to Tyra and Erik on their growing family!
