Nearly six months after assaulting Rihanna, Chris Brown has decided to make an apology for his actions. He posted the video below on his official website, saying that his lawyers advised him to stay quiet until now but calling his behavior inexcusable. Chris goes on to say that he's already apologized to Rihanna and that he's striving to be a better role model for his fans. Check it out below and tell us what you think in the comments.

glad he apologized. it's the least he can do. but i wish he weren't so obviously READING a script written by his publicist.

um, I don't think he's attractive at all and his behavior makes him even uglier.

if rihanna was your sister or friend, would all you forgivers out there be so quick to say forgive and forget? would you give the guy money? ever see or speak to him again? i doubt it. if ri was back together with chris, you would be calling her stupid and wouldn't have respect for her for going back to a batterer. for all those chris supporters, would you want to date him? i wouldn't. i don't believe people like chris really change but hope he can. for that hope, i say forgive but with strong reservation. i won't believe his apology entirely until i see some action to support it. i think he needs to earn his way back into society and the industry, not just have it handed to him b/c he said he was sorry. i am saddened and appauled by how many out there are so quick to forgive and pretend nothing happened. i don't think this needs to be held over his head forever, but he needs to prove his sincerity and worthiness in my opinion. then i can forgive and forget.

Okay guys, doesn't he have an album coming out? His career was a trainwreck and he simply realized he won't recover unless his image does. Notice that it took so long? It's not because his lawyers told him to stay quiet, it's because he put off this apology as a last resort. The only reason he's doing it is to make money and promote his new album. This is just typical PR crisis management-- it's textbook. Have your PR Director write out a carefully-worded apology, recite it in front of a mass audience, and bonus if you show some kind of emotion.

are we supposed to be proud of him for doing this? it's something that he should have done all those months ago, and well - regardless if he did something public like this or not, it's still something that he should have felt was 100% necessary.

Here's my side, and I don't mean to offend anyone. If Rihanna forgave him, what gives us the right to remain angry at him? We weren't the ones who were offended, she was. All of you are saying it's forced and it's too late, at least he did apologize to his fans, what else do you guys want? He plead to each one of you on his knees? People can change, all of you who's saying: once a hitter always a hitter. It's pretty lame, to be honest. If we all think that way, what would happen to the world huh?
