Jared Leto's Long List of Rumored Ex-Lovers Includes Cameron Diaz, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus

Leto attended the premiere of Vanilla Ice's movie "Cool as Ice" (yes, you read that right) with Soleil Moon Frye — better known as Punky Brewster — in 1991. The two were rumored to have dated that year, according to various outlets.

Leto and Cameron Diaz carried on a relationship from 1999 to 2003, per Us Weekly, and at one point, they were rumored to have been engaged. After their split, Diaz went on to date Justin Timberlake, Paul Sculfor, and Alex Rodriguez, and in 2015, she wed Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in a surprise ceremony.

In 2004, Leto began dating actor Scarlett Johansson. They were spotted getting cozy around NYC and LA, and even though they ended things a year later, they reunited at the 2012 Democratic National Convention — and were spotted holding hands and snapping selfies in photos shared by The Daily Mail.

In a 2016 interview with Cosmopolitan, Johansson talked about a past relationship, and though she didn't identify the ex, it could very well be Leto. She said: "Long, long ago, I had someone in my life who was forever unavailable . . . but, like, so attractively unavailable." She went on: "Rock bottom is the moment when you're like, 'I've lost myself. Why am I standing outside this bar at 1:30 in the morning texting while my friends are inside? Or taking a taxi to see him at some ungodly hour? This isn't me.' That is the moment you've gotta cut it off. Otherwise, it will keep coming back, suck your blood."

Since then, Johannson seems to have found a much healthier situation with "Saturday Night Live" star Colin Jost, whom she married in October 2020.

Leto and Ashley Olsen seemed to have had an on-off friends with benefits sort of thing over the years; they were first linked in 2005 after being spotted on a date in LA but came back together in 2008 when they were seen holding hands and "making out" at the Art of Elysium Gala in LA, per The Huffington Post. An eyewitness told Us Weekly at the time that they "looked like a couple," but a source close to Olsen insisted they were just friends. Cut to 2011, and the "friends" were reportedly seen enjoying a "very flirtatious meal" at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, per the New York Daily News.

Ultimately, Olsen reportedly tied the knot with Louis Eisner in January 2023.

Leto and Lindsay Lohan were linked when they worked together on the controversial biopic "Chapter 27," for which the actor famously put on 50 pounds to play John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman. The movie came out in 2007, and in an interview with MTV that year, Leto admitted that he "didn't speak" to Lohan (or anyone else) on the set while filming. Lohan has since tied the knot with Bader Shammas, who she married in July 2022.

Leto was connected to the heiress in 2008 after a photo of the two making out at a party during the Sundance Film Festival made the rounds. Their relationship didn't seem to take off, though, and Hilton has since moved on with Carter Reum.

Actor, model, and publishing heir Lydia Hearst was first linked to Leto back in 2008, per Guest of a Guest, when they were seen out and about in NYC and rumored to be "spending some personal time together." They seem to have stayed pals, as Leto shared a since-deleted selfie of them on his website in 2011, writing, "Me + my friend Lydia Hearst." Hearst is married to "@Midnight" and "The Talking Dead" host Chris Hardwick.

In 2009, Leto was photographed hanging out with Australian actor Isabel Lucas, who had been previously linked to Shia LaBeouf and Adrien Brody. Multiple sources reported that the two were romantically involved.

Leto was rumored to be romancing Serbian model Nina Senicar after the two were spotted grabbing drinks together in Milan in July 2011.

Leto's next hookup was with Katharina Damm, a model and actor from Denmark. The two were spotted cozying up on the beach in St. Tropez in 2011 — about two weeks after Leto hung out with Nina Senicar, FYI — but things seemed to fizzle out after they were seen "full-on fighting" at a New York Fashion Week party that September, per the New York Daily News.

Leto reportedly struck up a romance with his wardrobe stylist, Chloe Bartoli, somewhere around 2013. The two had been — and still seem to be — close friends. Bartoli was even seen out with Leto the day after he won his Oscar in 2014, and the pair sparked dating rumors again in 2018 after Bartoli shared the above photo of her and Leto posing in the desert.

Fun fact: Bartoli also used to date Scott Disick, made headlines when she was spotted with the father of three in the South of France. According to Us Weekly, photos of them cuddling at the beach were allegedly the reason Disick's longtime girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian, broke up with him in July 2015.

Leto's love life was thrust into the spotlight in early 2014 as he took award season by storm with fellow nominee and breakout star Lupita Nyong'o. After the two were caught chatting during the Critics' Choice Awards in January, it wasn't long before rumors of a mutual attraction (and possible hookup) between the two started swirling — and fans totally started shipping them.

It was never confirmed or denied whether Leto and Nyong'o actually sealed the deal, but their chemistry was undeniable, whether they were presenting together on stage at award shows or hanging out at Paris Fashion Week together — Leto famously referred to the "12 Years a Slave" star as his "future ex-wife" during an acceptance speech at the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards.

In February 2014, Us Weekly reported that Leto and Miley Cyrus were "hooking up." Sources told the outlet that the singer "stayed over at his house" and gave some insight into their shared interests, saying, "They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music — and they're both comfortable with nudity!"

After splitting from John Mayer in February 2014, Katy Perry was linked to a number of famous guys, including Robert Pattinson, Diplo, and Leto. Various outlets reported that the two were rumored to have hooked up at Coachella in April of that year.

Regardless of what happened, Perry and Leto seemed to stay close. In 2017, Perry opened up about her bond with Leto, calling him "one of my best friends," per The Hollywood Reporter. "He's always there for me, through the highs and lows," she said. "And in this business, there are lots of highs and lots of lows. He loves to make everyone happy through how they present themselves. And he doesn't take everything so seriously. Nor do I, and that's why we're a match made in heaven, because we just like to have fun and laugh because life is really weird sometimes, right?"

Whether or not the pair were together romantically, Perry has since tied the knot with husband Orlando Bloom, who she got engaged to in 2019.

In June 2015, People reported that Leto was romancing Russian model Valery Kaufman; the two were spotted hanging out in NYC while Leto was busy filming "Suicide Squad." Neither Leto nor Kaufman's reps commented on the relationship rumors at the time, but Leto wasn't in attendance when Kaufman stomped the runway at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that November.

Over the next seven years, the duo, who reportedly started out as friends, have been on-again, off-again. They're rarely seen together in public, though in 2020, they stepped out with Leto's mother, Constance Leto, while heading to trendy gourmet marketplace Joan's on Third. "They have been off and on now for a few years, but seem to spend more time together lately," a source told People in June 2020.

However, in September 2022, Entertainment Weekly reported that Leto and Kaufman had split once and for all. "He is single and has been dating around," a source told the outlet that year — meaning that this list is likely to get a bit longer sometime soon.

As of 2023, Leto appears to be dating model Beauty (née Thet Thinn). In June, Daily Mail published photos of the two together in Berlin. Other than their casual outings, not much is known about their reltionship at the time.
