The MTV Movie Awards Hosts You Probably, Definitely Forgot About

In 2018, Tiffany Haddish became the first black woman to ever host the MTV Movie and TV Awards, and joined a long list of past emcees that includes Eddie Murphy, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jessica Alba. While some hosts have been pretty unforgettable (remember how many digs Russell Brand took at the stars in the audience?), there are others we completely forgot about. For instance, we had no idea that Will Smith hosted the show back in 1994, and we may have blocked out that time MTV paired Jimmy Fallon with Kirsten Dunst for 2001's big event. Some high-profile stars have even hosted more than once! Keep reading to see all the MTV Movie Awards hosts you may have forgotten about, then check out the most '90s-tastic moments and sexiest smooches from the show's best kiss award winners.

MTV went back to pairing hosts in 2001 with future Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon and actress Kirsten Dunst, who had just starred in Crazy/Beautiful. The two opened the show with a hilarious spoof of Madonna's hit song "Don't Tell Me" and the corresponding music video.

Jack and Sarah Michelle might be the most random celebrity cohosts ever. They opened the show with a song and dance number surrounded by giant popcorn kernels, and for some reason, we never saw them together again. Sad.

The show from 2003 will go down in history as the only time we've seen Justin Timberlake's face on another man's crotch. It's worth noting that after these two hosted, MTV never paired emcees together again.

We have to admit, we totally forgot that Jessica Alba took over hosting duties in 2006, but we discovered that she wore lots of hot outfits, did a funny Mission Impossible: III spoof, and nabbed the award for sexiest performance thanks to her role in Sin City.

Sarah Silverman, 2007

Comedian Sarah Silverman hosted the 2007 show and was pretty brutal when it came to making fun of the stars in the audience. She was especially ruthless to Paris Hilton, who was just days from going to jail. During her opening monologue, Sarah said, "To make Paris Hilton more comfortable in jail, I hear they're going to make the bars of her cell out of penises," adding, "I just worry she'll snap her teeth."

Andy Samberg, 2009

The 2009 show was when Sacha Baron Cohen (as his character Brüno) descended from the rafters and put his bare butt in Eminem's face. The rapper was in on the stunt but acted so upset during the show that we had no idea until days later. Because of that headline-making incident, you may have forgotten that the night's host was none other than Andy Samberg. Yes, before he left SNL and won a Golden Globe for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Andy hosted the MTV Movie Awards. His 2009 gig was full of Lonely Island songs and re-creations of his SNL digital shorts, including "D*ck in a Box."

Russell Brand, 2012

Russell Brand, 2012

The British comedian made headlines after his hosting gig in 2012, thanks to his jabs at John Travolta, Michael Fassbender's assets, and even MTV's Teen Mom. He also poked fun at himself and his short-lived wedding to Katy Perry. This was also the year that Kristen Stewart made out with herself on stage and Joe Manganiello strutted out as his Magic Mike character, "Big Dick Ritchie."

Rebel Wilson, 2013

Rebel Wilson sang, danced, and wasn't afraid to laugh at herself during her hosting stint in 2013; she commented quite a bit about her own body and staged a wardrobe malfunction that exposed her third nipple. The Australian actress also brought out her "Koala Cam," a stuffed bear named Chlamydia, to give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the show.

Yes, Conan O'Brien hosted the show wearing a muscle suit, but he also offered up a foolproof plan to punish stars for taking too long with their acceptance speeches: "I will personally send a dick pic to the teleprompter," he told the crowd. The 2014 show also gave us that glorious moment when Rita Ora helped Zac Efron rip his shirt off on stage.

Last year's host, of course, was the hilarious Amy Schumer. Be sure to tune in next month to see how Dwayne and Kevin stack up to the long list of former emcees!
