Nick Lachey has signed a deal with the WB to become a newlywed again. This time it will be in a scripted sitcom instead of (scripted) reality program. AP reports:

Lachey is set to play a baseball star navigating a new marriage in a pilot for the WB network, spokesman Paul McGuire said Monday. Danny Jacobson, co-creator of "Mad About You," has been tapped to write the show.

It will begin taping in April and hopefully be part of WB's fall '06 lineup. I am looking forward to seeing who will be cast as his wife. Good for Nick for bouncing back with some big business news in the wake of the separation. People are saying how he is over now that him and Jessica have split. While I am the naive one who will hold out for their undying love to get them back together somehow, I am also very pleased to see Nick and his people working overtime to make his place in the world not just about being one half of the Simpson family. This must be killing Joe Simpson.

He was also out on the town now that he is single. With his brother for support and fellow single guy, A.J. DiScala, Nick has had no problem partying up with the boys. I'm sure the ladies are all over him more now than ever.

NY Daily News reports that Johnny has a new female target - Lindsay Lohan. He is 34, she is 19. He is married, she is shopping for engagement rings clearly for publicity sake. He is an ass for supposedly cozying up with LL this weekend at the Chateau Marmont where we know LL was kicking back with a Corona. I just don't get the appeal of a man with a wife and a kid who made a name for himself by literally being a Jackass.

It's a Boy for Tom and Katie
File this under speculation but it's about that time when people would be guessing the sex of their baby. Apparently names are also being thrown out - the report said it will be William Oscar. Who knows where this stuff comes from sometimes.

David Arquette to become a Private Investigator
David's got a deal with ABC for a new show with him as the star. His wife Courtney will exec produce and the writer/producer from Raymond is also on board. As goofy as he is, I would like to see him succeed. Hopefully the pilot will be funny.

Kim's Little Sibling
Congrats to Rod Stewart for having another kid, a boy this time. Let's hope that since Kim is old enough to live out of her dad's house that she will not corrupt the newborn.

If people think celebs can't write then why do they get publishing deals? What is the truth about celeb fiction? NY Daily News has a theory, but really, who cares, we all know it is just about extending their brand and striking while they are hot. Some celebs do it for the art of expanding their creative minds (i.e. Ethan Hawke). Others are fabulous like Steve Martin's Shopgirl which if you have not already seen the movie, then get out there and see it before the rush of holiday films hits theaters.

As for the latest introduction to the celebrity author category, Nicole Richie is getting her fair share of publicity. I am only half way through her book so I am not reviewing it yet (stay tuned) but I will say I had no desire to read Paris or Pam Anderson's books so Nicole (or her people) did something right in the marketing of this title. Here she is doing her normal daily routine of dog walking and Coffee Bean drinking.

In other Nicole news, The Simple Life has been picked up by none other than E! Network. The show will be called, Till Death Do Us Part and will include the girls in 10 episodes in a "Trading Spouses-style premise, tending to children, putting dinner on the table and otherwise playing house in order to, in the words of E!, "put the girls to the matrimonial test." There was no hint that Hilton and Richie would do any of their tasks together--and, in fact, the press materials noted the pair would "take turns." It will be interesting to see how the show works with them separately.

A little bit of snow did not keep Reese, Ryan and Deacon in their hotel room in Toronto. They ventured out for a little lunch while Ryan was on a break from filming Breach. I just love them.

I have not had a Guess Who in a little while and while this one is super easy, I think it's a good one to kick off this Monday. This newly officially ringless blond has a frown after the jump. She is headed to a tanning salon to lift her spirits and perhaps get ready to date.
