VMAs: The Show Must Go On - But It May Not

Will the VMAs survive hurricane Katrina?

Will the VMAs survive hurricane Katrina? Apparently stars like Lindsay Lohan and Alicia Keys are stranded since no planes are flying in and out of the region. MTV is thankful a lot of celebs are already in Miami but there will be some major hurdles to overcome to make everything go well this Sunday. I guess he yacht and other extravagant entrances will have to be canceled.

MTV has reportedly canceled events to be held today and Saturday's are still to be determined.

At least we have Madonna. The injured pop star will not attend but Perez reports that "MTV News is set to premiere an exclusive peek at Madonna's Tour Documentary, "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" during the 2-hour LIVE Video Music Awards PRE-SHOW" What would a VMAs be without Madonna's presence? There will definitely be no kissing between pregnant Britney and injured Madonna this year but we look forward to the sneak peak.

America's Sweetheart

WWD reports that Jennifer's VF cover has broken a newsstand sales record for the magazine.

WWD reports that Jennifer's VF cover has broken a newsstand sales record for the magazine. I guess Graydon was smart is pushing up this story. We loved the article on Jen and if you missed it then catch up already.

GRAYDON 'FLATION: How obsessed is America with the Brad Pitt-Jennifer Aniston-Angelina Jolie affair? Obsessed enough to make Vanity Fair's September issue the magazine's best seller of all time. Early projections place the issue's total newsstand sales at around 650,000 copies. That's enough to beat the previous record of 640,816, set when Carolyn Bessette Kennedy graced the September 1999 cover shortly after her death. So much for the critics who thought the September issue would flop on newsstands after all the hype it received in the pages of People magazine and Us Weekly.

Go VF! Let's hope Graydon does not screw things up with a Paris Hilton cover in October although we would not be suprised to see it.

Paris on the Set

I love these pics of Paris hard at work on her movie Pledge This.

I love these pics of Paris hard at work on her movie Pledge This. I am hoping for some funny Days and Confused like pledging scenes, but it's hard to touch that movie. She keeps looking at her lines over and over again. At least she seems to be taking her job seriously. There is a little too much pink for me with all the girls.

Ashlee on Oprah

Wow. She's getting huge.

Wow. She's getting huge. First TRL, now Oprah. Clearly returning to SNL is not working out so she is making her way to daytime TV shows like Oprah. Don't get me wrong. Oprah is huge so it's a good move her Ashlee, but let's be honest, it's no SNL. The AP report said her appearance will be around the release of her new album "I Am Me," is set for release Oct. 18.

In Ashlee's words, " We are going to push `SNL' back because we are doing `The Oprah Winfrey Show' for one hour," Simpson told "Access Hollywood" on Wednesday. "(`Oprah') is going to be the first interview and the first place where Ashlee sings."
