Britney has made many concerned about the welfare of her two sons but now it looks like people are even concerned about her poor pets. She was named the worst celebrity dog owner for 2006 by both The Hollywood Dog and The New York Dog magazines. Her old friend Paris won the crown as worst dog owner last year. Poor Bit Bit.

Martha stopped by Howard Stern last week and completely opened up about all the dirty details in her life. She told the talk show host about her $1200 vibrator that's "a very good tool," talked about dating Mayor Bloomberg, Anthony Hopkins and her latest filthy-rich boyfriend and touched a bit about her time in prison with women. OK Martha... a little TMI. Here's more:

She recalled dating Mayor Bloomberg "years ago" - and confessed she couldn't get past the Hannibal Lecter character while dating "Silence of the Lambs" actor Anthony Hopkins.

"Do you want someone eating your brain while you are sitting in your beautiful dining room in Maine?" she wondered. "I would have probably had a very nice relationship with Anthony Hopkins but I couldn't get past the Lechter thing."

She called her current beau a filthy-rich Microsoft retiree with his own plane and boat. "Those guys have all the toys," she said.

The woman imprisoned for the ImClone insider-trading scandal also said she ran into "girls with mustaches and girls with beards [who] would ask me for lunch" behind bars.

"They also wanted to learn," she added ". . . Everybody in prison has a business plan."

George's fabulous home in Lake Como is often rumored to be the location of high profile celeb weddings. Brad and Angelina were first rumored to be getting married at his villa, and then Katie and Tom. George now seems to think he's uncovered the source of the false reports - he thinks a hotel was tipping off the media to increase their business. To solve the problem he's decided to start the rumor that he's getting married next year. Here's more:

"It took us a while to figure it out but it was interesting. There is a very famous hotel on the Lake that shuts down from November through March and the last two years it's been sold out for weeks because the press thought someone was getting married at my place. "It was Brad and Angelina or it was TOM (CRUISE) and KATIE (HOLMES). That hotel was leaking the story." Clooney admits he initially played along with the ruse: "I set up 12 high-top tables and chairs on the lawn and the helicopters kept flying around for days." Clooney is even thinking about sparking rumours for 2007 himself - to keep his Italian retreat in the news and the local hotel busy: "I think the secret to actually getting away with a wedding at Lake Como is keep telling the press who's gonna be getting married there next year? "I should do it. That's it, I'm getting married there next year. Let's start the rumour now!"

Penelope got in a great dance workout in West Hollywood this weekend. Besides keeping fit, she's getting rave reviews for her performance in Volver. Even her ex Matthew McConaughey thinks she deserves an Oscar. She's already gotten a European Film Award for best actress and she's up for a Golden Globe. No wonder she wants to look her best and stay fit... this could be her lucky Oscar year as well.

Hilary may be single again but she is not moping around even though Joel has moved on quickly with Nicole Richie. The Duff sisters took off this weekend for a fun getaway in Whistler where they spent some quality time together and goofed around in the snow. Hil really knows how to take care of herself after a break-up. She obviously understands that chilling out with her supportive sis is a lot more productive than hitting the club scene.

No wonder Vanessa is smiling - her man was the most popular act at Z-100's annual Jingle Ball Christmas in NYC. While the event brought out many hot male performers like The Killers and The Fray, it was Nick that the girls went crazy for. Apparently Madison Square Garden was going wild for Mr Lachey. Here's more:

Although rockers the Fray dished up one of the top sets of the early show, it was Z's morning DJ Elvis Duran who found the crowd's weakness and took advantage of it as he introduced the Fray. "I heard Nick Lachey wants to perform naked."

The mention of Lachey, in combination with the word naked, made the gaggles of girls in the house squeal with surging hormones. While the Fray did well, especially on the song "How to Save a Life," it was Nick for whom they were panting.

Although Lachey was not in the headlining slot - that belonged to Furtado - it was clear that he was what the crowd wanted to see, naked or not.

Although he was a little too smooth on the pop and a little too sensitive during the ballads, it didn't matter to the young female Jingle Ballers who wiggled and jiggled out of their seats with puppy lust.

Nick may be a hot commodity but Vanessa doesn't look like she's too worried.

Nicole recently made her first visit back to Australia to visit her family since her June wedding. But just because she was on vacation doesn't mean she couldn't take some time out for others. While in her hometown, she shared her Christmas spirit with 400 patients at the Sydney Children's Hospital by paying for all the kids to attend a private screening of her animated film Happy Feet. "It's just lovely to be able to do something for the children," said Nicole. The 39-year-old actress, whose husband Keith Urban is undergoing rehab back in the US, added: "It puts life in perspective."

Nicole, who was accompanied to the special event by her daughter Isabella, has been catching up with her sister Antonia and parents during her low-key visit. And the Cold Mountain star took a trip down memory lane when she attended a matinee performance at her old acting school, the Australian Theatre For Young People.

She is also believed to have a meeting planned with famed Aussie director Baz Luhrman, to talk about their upcoming movie project The Australian, co-starring Hugh Jackman. Work commitments wrapped up, she's expected to fly back to her and Keith's marital home in Nashville, Tennessee, to spend Christmas with the country singer.

It sounds like Nicole is thinking of great ways to stay positive while Keith is finishing up rehab. It's good to know they'll be back together soon.

The Beckhams are house hunting in LA and Victoria has big dreams to make it in Hollywood. Looks like her good friends Tom and Katie are going to help make it happen. Apparently Tom is making a new movie based on Scientology, and Posh is all set to play the alien bride. Here's more:

She will play the missus of an alien leader known as a thetan – which Scientologists claim is an immortal spiritual being present in all humans.

A source said: “Victoria is really hoping to make a go of it in Hollywood.

“This could be the perfect start for her, with good pal Tom Cruise in charge.”

Cruise, 44, will make the film with his own money after all the Hollywood studios rejected the project – and it’s a far cry from Posh’s first role in Spiceworld.

But the 1997 Spice Girls movie is a Cruise favourite and the megastar believes she has “comic genius”. His wife Katie Holmes, 28 today, is helping Posh make it in Tinseltown by inviting her to lavish industry parties.
