Yet another reason we love Nick - he is fighting for spousal support. Normally we would not think this is necessary but since Jessica was so pimped out over the years during their marriage it makes sense that Nick gets his share. Besides, America fell in love with the cute, innocent, spoiled, ditsy blonde that Nick put up with for our entertainment. People reports:

According to court papers filed on Friday, Lachey cited irreconcilable differences for the dissolution of the marriage. In addition to financial provisions, the singer is requesting miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects, his earnings and accumulations from and after the date of separation and additional property assets to be determined.

Interestingly, Lachey reports their separation date as Dec. 13 while Simpson claims it was Nov. 23. The discrepancy in the dates is particularly relevant because of the nearly $1 million Simpson earned during those weeks that she'd have to split with her former husband under California law.

And to think - we were so hoping for a reconciliation between these two. It's such a shame that fame totally ruined their marriage but luckily no kids were involved and now it's a matter of seeing who will have lasting power.

Gwyneth and a friend were seen leaving Barney's the other day. She sure looks happy - must be her pregnancy glow. Star is guessing it's another girl for Chris and Gwyneth, but who really knows. It's just a simple 50-50 guess for the tabloids so they have to take those odds.

Another reason Nick Lachey is so hot - he's a true family man. He has been at almost every episode of his brother's Dancing with Celebrities program just to show his support. I love that. He seems to be the same guy he was before all the fame. I personally can't stomach the show, but I hope Drew wins since the whole Lachey family deserves some great things.

In other Nick news, Jessica's folks are denying any wrong doing during their marriage. Her publicist is saying "Jessica is a single girl. She is not dating Adam Levine or anybody else." in response to the US Weekly scandal article. NY Daily News also reports there are rumors Jessica will sit down with Diane Sawyer to clear her tarnished image.

Producers are trying to get Matt Damon to sign on to a fourth and fifth sequel to the Bourne series. He is about to do a third but they are mocking up two additional ones. Here's more:

Damon is on board to reprise his role as JASON BOURNE, an amnesiac trying to piece together his past, for the third film in the series, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, which starts shooting in August (06).

The books by author ROBERT LUDLUM, on which the film series are loosely based, ended with Ultimatum, but Marshall says he can envision five Bourne films in all.

Producer FRANK MARSHALL says, "It's kinda up to Matt Damon. Maybe to five (films)...at some point he's (Jason Bourne) gotta find out who he is."

Yeah, he has to find out who he is and besides, we just have something for Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. It's his hottest role yet and we'd keep paying to see him even if the tickets were $20 at that point. Come on Matt - say yes!

Just like the Tom and Katie rumors, the official denials have been announced. The group has cleared up the rumors that they are not breaking up on on their own Coldplay site. Their rep also stated "Coldplay are not quitting,.... They are on the road until July, when their 16-month X&Y world tour ends in Japan. They will then continue working on new material."

Matthew Fox in March GQ = tasty. We love us some Charlie - I mean Jack. Lost was finally, almost, really good again this week. I was so hoping we would see what happened when the clock ran out but Locke saved things just in time. As for the latest on Lost and our desire to vote Michelle Rodriguez off the island, it looks like we are not the only ones. popwatch found some more folks who want her off but it looks like the writers are saying her off set attitude won't get her killed. Damn.
