We should have seen this coming. Jessica likes to drop the bomb before holiday weekends - kinda like she did with the initial divorce announcement before Thanksgiving. Looks like these two are happily independent for the holiday weekend. How appropriate.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are officially divorced, rep Rob Shuter confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

According to papers filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the divorce is dated June 30, 2006, and Jessica's name is restored to Jessica Simpson (from Jessica Simpson Lachey).

On Thursday, documents were released in which the former couple asked that retired Superior Court Judge Dana Senit Henry be appointed "for the sole purpose of" ending their marriage. They asked the judge to "bifurcate" the case, meaning to make the divorce official without settling all the financial details.

The nappy beard, the sloppily rolled baggy ripped jeans and the ugly shoes are doing nothing for Heath. He is really letting himself go these days. Poor Michelle.

Nick and Jessica want to be divorced quietly and quickly. The couple want it official ASAP. In fact, they plan to work out the financial fighting after the divorce papers are all signed on the dotted lines. People reports:

Ever since Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy were caught kissing last week they clearly have decided they don't need to hide their love any longer. The couple have been very public and they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Everything about this picture is cute, except her shoes. They are totally growing on me as a couple. Let's hope these two have finally met their match.

Winona is one of my favorite actresses. She used to pick the best roles, had a fabulous sense of style and even dated another favorite of mine, Matt Damon. I am so happy to see Winona back. After the whole shoplifting incident she disappeared with only a few random appearances like a MJ store opening. Last night she returned for an appearance at the premiere of A Scanner Darkly which looks amazing. She is also back at work on another film called Sex and Death 101. We hope this is just the beginning of a lot more Winona.

Kate has decided to not write her tell all book but she is still writing a few poems of her own. Apparently she wrote Pete a poem in his journal. The Sun reports:

In it, she says drugs ruined their relationship. And Kate, 32, says Babyshambles singer Doherty, 27, cared more for heroin and his druggie pals than her.

She moans: “You love them more than you love me.” And she adds: “For that’s why I could cry all day long, that’s why I can’t breathe.”

Kate — who dumped Doherty over his filthy drug habit — scrawled the passage in his shabby journal.
