Beckham resigned as captain from the World Cup team following their loss to Ecuador earlier this summer. Now apparently Becks has been dropped from the national soccer team by coach Steve McClaren. Victoria is working with his PR team to quickly get the word out that it was his decision to leave, but sources say the coach has his reasons. Page Six reports:
FORMER English soccer captain David Beckham is being dropped from the national team. Page Six has learned that newly appointed English coach Steve McClaren will deliver the shock announcement today. The revelation comes a day after Chelsea captain John Terry was named Beckham's successor. Beckham will continue to play for the Real Madrid team. As the ax falls, Beckham - married to ex-pop star Victoria "Posh Spice" Adams - is said to be working with his p.r. spinmasters to get out the word that it was his decision to leave. "McClaren wants to decelebritize the England team," our source said. "He wants to get back to basics - the game of football without all the distractions. He's also making a new rule: no more wives or girlfriends traveling with the team. That's out."
Kirsten Dunst will strike a pose for the pages of the September Vogue. This happens to be the most important month of fashion magazines so it's a big score for Kirsten. A lot of you may not be fans but she clearly is a favorite of many directors and designers. In Vogue she poses as Marie Antoinette, her latest role in Sofia Coppola's upcoming film. She shows off a bunch of fabulous Alexander McQueen and John Galliano gowns for both the magazine and the film... lucky girl! Here's more:
The 24-year-old actress, whose screen credits include Coppola's "The Virgin Suicides," wears a series of dramatic floor-length gowns by designers such as Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, and by Milena Canonero, the costume designer for the film.
"You breathe differently in those dresses; you move in a special way," Dunst tells the magazine.
Coppola's costume drama with modern trappings premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival. It opens in theaters Oct. 20.
The queen's love of fashion particularly interested her, says Coppola, who won a screenwriting Oscar for her 2003 movie, "Lost in Translation."
"You're considered superficial and silly if you are interested in fashion," the 35-year-old writer-director is quoted as saying. "But I think you can be substantial and still be interested in frivolity."
"The girl in `Lost in Translation' is just about to figure out a way of finding herself, but she hasn't yet. In this film, she makes the next step. I feel that Marie Antoinette is a very creative person."

K-Fed admits his marriage to Britney needs work before baby number 2 is born next month. The two have reportedly been having problems since Sean P was born last year, and Kevin says their marriage is far from perfect because the two don't spend a lot of time together. So basically he is just admitting what we all knew was true but it's a step in the right direction for him. Besides, Britney did give him his own Black AMEX card so he must be doing something right.

Christina has admitted she's attracted to women. The girl who so famously made out with Madonna during their VMA performance confessed she loves to look at women's naked bodies. She really wants to make sure we all know she's not going to play it any softer just because she's now married. Here's more on her love for women:
"I think the female body is really beautiful and sometimes I think the sight of a female nude body can be more attractive than a male's - but that's just me."
When asked if there was a particular woman she would like to get down and dirty with, the singer admitted she thought Halle Berry was "beautiful".
She said: "Halle Berry is a very beautiful woman, but I'm not saying yes or no."
The 25-year-old also says her husband, music executive Jason Bratman, does not mind her same-sex urges.
She said: "He supports my little ways. It's OK by him."

Beyonce has pulled out of a promotional trip to the UK after the recent terrorist plot unfolded. She has been told by her record label she must stay in the US when her new single Deja Vu hits stores. I guess we can understand how some are scared but I would think this is the safest time to fly. Besides, does this mean Beyonce flies commercial? Here's more:

Elle Macpherson is saying Heidi stole her name and she is pissed. Elle has been known as "The Body" ever since Time magazine gave her the name for their cover story in 1986. In fact, Elle's skin-care line is called "Elle Macpherson The Body." She can't believe Heidi is claiming it's her name while promoting Victoria's Secret's new bra. The battle for the body is on! This week, Klum has been claiming the title for herself in a saturation Victoria's Secret ad campaign for The Body bra. "They call me The Body — and now I have a bra named after me," the German hottie claims in TV commercials.
But not so fast, Fräulein Klum!
"We saw that and were like, Oh my god!" Elle Macpherson Intimates spokeswoman Melissa Edwards told Lowdown yesterday. "We were initially flabbergasted."
Elle's flack, Edwards, invoked the 1986 Time cover and added: "We have numerous press clippings in the office referring to her as 'The Body.' Everything from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue to the recent Sports Illustrated calls her that. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle."
Macpherson markets her own skin-care line, "Elle Macpherson The Body," along with a lingerie brand and a fitness video titled "The Body Workout." Klum — who was once called "The Body Two," in deference to Elle — is a relative Heidi-come-lately, and didn't hit the United States until the late 1990s. Both Klum and Macpherson have been favorites of the Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit issue, and both appeared in the mag's latest.
