The cast of Hollywoodland were looking fabulous at the Venice Film Festival. The movie is getting great early buzz, but Ben Affleck doesn't want to call this movie a comeback. It's probably a good idea he has taken a break from crappy movies like Gigli and Surviving Christmas but is America ready for Affleck to return to the big screen? Apparently not. Poor Ben might have been cut out of the commercials due to poor feedback in focus groups. Defamer reports many are still sick of the man who was overexposed by the tabloids.

Britney is looking super cute and happy in the final stages of her pregnancy. We love that happy Brit is back and she looks better than she has in a very long time. You really just never know what to expect from this girl. Check out Britney with Jamie-Lynn enjoying some yummy ice cream. She also made a special appreance last night on the VMAs when she showed off her comedic acting skills with K-Fed. We love that they made fun of themselves about being bad parents, but the skit should have stopped before little Sean P drove off in a car. Not sure what that was all about. Here's more:

The couple made light of criticism they're bad parents in the pre-recorded skit when a heavily-pregnant Spears asked her husband where he'd put their baby son SEAN PRESTON. Federline stated, "I thought you had him." The camera cut to what looked like baby Sean Preston speeding around in a customised sports car. The joke failed to raise a laugh. Spears and Federline returned to present a taped run down of the Best R+B Video nominations.

OK I actually feel bad for her. The girl showed up bright and early to sing on The Today Show and tried her hardest to carry a tune. She really has no voice and she tried so hard. It pained me to watch, partly because watching her sing is always unpleasant, but also because I really felt sorry for her. I actually want to give her credit for trying so hard. She was a trooper. She even spoke to Matt afterwards and I wanted him to stop asking her questions. She was clearly in pain. No mentions of her new man John Mayer or her ex, Nick. She did talk about what happened with her throat and the VMAs. Here's more:

"I have no voice," she said afterwards to Lauer, explaining that the problem wasn't laryngitis. "I bruised a blood vessel in my vocal cords. I don't know if I had, like, a screaming, crying attack, or a coughing attack, or a sneeze or what."

When she learned of her diagnosis just as she was scheduled to begin promoting her album, Simpson said her reaction was "Oh, dang it!" But, she said, she promised to make good on any cancelled appearances (she'd postponed a visit to the Late Show with David Letterman and stopped by – but didn't sing on – MTV's TRL on Tuesday).

Thursday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Simpson presented the best dance video trophy to the Pussycat Dolls.

"The VMAs were a blast," she told Lauer. "I was only there for a little bit."

She didn't go to any parties afterward? "If I did," she said, "I wouldn't be here today."

Brad is truly following in Angelina's footsteps by helping out the less fortunate. He revealed the winner of his rebuilding project in New Orleans yesterday, and also let the residents know he'll be spending a lot of time there in the coming months. Not only will he be observing the progress of his project, he'll be filming a new movie. But it's not all work and no play for Brad, Anglina and the kids are there too. Here's more:

"We're going to be spending a lot of time down here," Pitt said.

Preproduction for his next movie is scheduled to begin in November, and Pitt said he would be in New Orleans for much of January and February for filming.

Around that time, he also hoped to break ground on the first phase of the neighborhood redevelopment project slated for a section of the devastated Ninth Ward, he said.

Pitt said Thursday he's still appalled — embarrassed even — that people in many New Orleans neighborhoods cannot return because of the lack of basic services like hospitals and schools.

"This is a social justice issue," he said. "In a catastrophe, you help the most vulnerable first, and we failed to do that."

Yesterday Harry was spotted at Cartier buying a mystery ring and today the couple pop up in Hawaii. Could it be that LL is getting engaged this weekend? Are they messing around with the press or is this for real? Page Six reports:

LINDSAY Lohan's billion-dollar boy toy has only dated her for a month, but he's just shelled out for a pricey a diamond engagement ring. Harry Morton was spotted on a secret trip to Cartier in Beverly Hills where he picked out the sparkler, Extra and Splash News report. A few hours later, Morton, 25, whisked the 20-year-old singer-actress away for a romantic vacation where he's likely to pop the question. An insider said: "He is ready to take their relationship to the next level."
