We are so excited that the Beckhams are moving to the states! Well, us and everybody else! David said the decision was a difficult one, and he even called up his good friend Tom Cruise for advice. Tom evidently told him that LA was a pretty cool place and filled him in on what to be prepared for when he gets over here. One of the biggest reasons he decided to join LA Galaxy was to make a difference with young children. We're sure the cool $250 mil doesn't hurt either! Here's more:

• He said: "It was a difficult decision but not a hard one to make. I have played in top-flight football for 15 years with two of the biggest clubs in the world, so stepping away from that was difficult.
• "Soccer has grown a lot but this is one of the reasons I want to take this challenge up - I want to take it to another level.
• "Soccer is played by so many youngsters up to a certain age and hopefully I can a make a difference to the young kids, who play and then go on to other areas.
• "One of my biggest passions is working with kids - I love it, that's the reason I started my academies, to see how happy we can make them. It's one of the differences I want to make and there is huge potential for that."

We can't wait to see what kind of changes happen once he gets here. Ticket sales for the LA Galaxy are already selling like crazy. If anything you'll probably see quite a few more soccer moms out at the games!

No one's arguing that Patrick doesn't know how to heat things up on Grey's Anatomy. Still, a little competition never hurt anyone. As we all quickly learned when Grey's writers brought on Eric Dane as Patrick's best friend/personal nemesis. The two are as different as can be on the show (except for their McDreamy and McSteamy nicknames). You'd think that the way the two are pitted against each other would cause some rifts in real life but evidently that's not the case. Here's highlights:

• “Patrick’s funny. He may be funnier than I am,” says Dane. “I came in to shoot my first scene, and it wasn’t comfortable. If you’re the only one in a towel on a set where everybody’s clothed, it’s kinda rough. We did the first take, and Patrick turned around and asked me when my calendar was coming out. I asked him when his shampoo campaign was coming out.”
• “There’s no real competition,” says Dempsey, with not-quite-imperceptible defensiveness. “We’re so different. It will be interesting to see where the dynamic of that friendship goes in the show. I think the women characters are developed very well. I sometimes feel that the men get a little shortchanged. [The Executive Producer] is writing an idealized version of what men should be.”

If the idealized version of men includes showing up in their towels on Grey's and looking like Eric and Patrick, we don't have any complaints!

It's guilty pleasure time again. Beautiful Brody showed up at the launch party for season 2 of The Hills. Wonder if that was uncomfortable for LC and Heidi. LC only dated him for a few weeks and in season 2 Heidi evidently goes out with him as well. That obviously didn't last either. Brody is so cute but clearly he is loving being a player. Still, the new season is supposed to be super hot. Lauren, Heidi, Audrina and Whitney find out that LA life isn't as easy as they thought. There's new boys (of course) for them all to fight over and this season has them making some tough choices. That's not giving too much away is it? The show's premiere is this Monday at 10 PM on MTV. Kate must love putting up with a bunch of crap. How else could you explain the reason she stays with Pete? He was recently snapped in Germany sneaking around with one of his groupies and during their holiday he was supposedly out trolling for drugs again. Kate, of course had a miserable time on their vacation in Thailand. Oh, and remember that song he was writing for her? It or something like it evidently ended up on a bathroom floor. Boo! A source says: "Pete wanted to tell Kate how much she meant to him and 2007 was going to mark a turning point in their relationship.

"But no sooner had Pete given Kate the poem the next day they had a massive argument about Pete sniffing around for drugs and she told him to go home."

The bust-up has also put on hold the couple's plans to move in together. We can reveal Kate, 32, had talked to Pete about him living with her in her St John's Wood mansion in North London.

A pal tells us: "Kate had pencilled in Tuesday for Pete to move in. After being evicted from his Hackney flat, Pete has either been on tour or sleeping on people's couches.

"Kate wanted to move things forward and impose a bit more stability into their relationship. But after their falling-out on holiday, she's shelved that idea."

To top it all, Kate missed all her friends and was devastated not to spend NYE with best mate Sadie Frost. The pal adds: "Kate was on the phone to all her friends complaining that she wished she'd stayed at home.

Why does Kate continue to torture herself? We used to feel sorry for her but at this point it's getting really hard to relate. Hopefully she'll come to her senses and decide not to go through with the second wedding!

We are kicking off the new year with a present for you all. We have been a huge fan of MollyGood since it launched this summer. We instantly included it in our link time group since her headlines continuously made us laugh out loud. Molly understands the importance of Olsen Teeth, the saddest day of 2006 when Adam and Rachel split, and of course loving, literally living as and watching everything Ms Spears does. We are so excited to announce that the creator of Mollygood, Molly, will be joining PopSugar!

So what does that mean for me as Pop. Well, it means Molly and I will have some fun back and forth banter on the site. It also means I will have more time to work on some new and exciting stuff that we are planning on launching later this year. MollyGood.com will also still be around but with a new wonderful writer. Madonna says that adopting David has been more challenging than she previously thought. She sat down with Letterman last night and said that she'd really tried to go down all the right avenues during David's adoption process. But it hasn't been as easy as all that. Here's highlights:

• "We did everything by the book, and everything was kosher in terms of legal," she said. "But it brought a lot of attention to a country just coming to terms with the overwhelming number of orphans that are there. There are over a million orphans there ... and in my opinion the laws need to change because these children need to be rescued."
• As for how David is adjusting to being with the family: "He's a champion tantrum thrower," says Madonna, who joked with Letterman about having the same first name as her son. "By the way, do you like his name? King David, we call him."
• The singer also weighed in on another major topic of conversation recently – underpants. "I've been hearing these stories – it's dreadful," she said referring to photos widely circulated of Britney Spears without underwear. "I love underpants."
• Joked Letterman: "I remember one night here a long time ago, you brought me a pair of them, and I still have them." Madonna then quipped: "Maybe you could send them to Britney."
