Ben Affleck looked more exhausted than ever jetting from France to Spain to keep promoting his Gone Baby Gone overseas. While he's been spending time abroad, his reps have been working to sort out a media mishap from Ben's interview with Details magazine. Apparently the writer misquoted Ben as saying that he'll leave LA if his movie isn't a success and that his movie is "really f—ing good." We thought it sounded a little odd for Ben to say that he would leave the business, but we're glad that he was able to clear that up. Considering the reviews for Gone Baby Gone are positive, it's nothing he has to worry about anyway.
More of Ben posing all by his lonesome so just read more
Chuck Rundown: Episode 6, "Chuck Vs. The Sandworm" If you'd asked me earlier in the TV season which show would be this year's love-it-or-hate-it series, I would have said Pushing Daisies, hands down. But now, I think the fall's love-it-or-hate-it award goes to Chuck. I've seen a lot of people who were really thrilled about the show at the beginning of the season slowly losing interest.
Ali Larter looked hot as hell in her black sheath dress, black patent bag and nude Loubs around LA yesterday. What can I say, the girl looks bangin'. This season of Heroes has been light on Ali, but judging from last night's episode we can look forward to having more of Nikki/Jessica to come. Season 2 of the show still has a few too many storylines going on for me, but hopefully they'll all come together in some way soon. Until then, Ali's got some important phone calls to make.
Celebrity Style: Nicky Hilton Nicky Hilton was taking a casual stroll on Beverly Blvd. in her shrunken Kate Moss for Topshop vest, black skinny jeans and buckled flats. All the items I just described are old timers on the fashion scene (Kate also has the same vest), but what's new and divine is her Burberry Prorsum studded bag.
Britney Spears had a big smile on her face with her arms full of junk food as she walked around LA yesterday. She must have been excited about today's release of Blackout, but unfortunately the judge's ruling about her kids isn't as happy. The court granted Britney just three monitored visits a week — two afternoons and one overnight with SP and JJ. This is a far cry from the 50/50 custody she was hoping for. She and Kevin were also ordered to figure out a holiday schedule between themselves and Britney was told to have her pool fenced in by Friday. The judge also released some of what the parenting coach had to say.
The coach revealed that Britney missed three of their appointments and when they did get together didn't pay much attention to her kids or arrange her schedule based on the boys having fun. All in all, Britney's visitation rights have been scaled back rather than increased due to her behavior. It sounds like Britney is far away from regaining substantial custody of her boys, but hopefully reading and hearing reports like these will get her on the right track as a mom. Because for now, hearing news like this just makes us sad.
Casa Verde: Cameron Diaz on Going Green Cameron Diaz has written the foreword for The Green Book (2007, Three Rivers Press), a new book on the importance of living an environmental lifestyle. I certainly agree that we should try to live as sustainably as possible, for our sake as well as that of our children. Let's see what Cameron has to say.
Kate Walsh picked up some peanuts and smokes stopping off to get gas in LA yesterday afternoon. I don't always love Miss Kate, but the red hot shoes are sassy in a good way (and Private Practice is, sigh, growing on me). Maybe I'll rekindle my love for Addison after all, but only if Kate stops talking about herself so much. Moving on, do you love Kate or is she a total bore? Let us know who you love, who you wish there was more of, and who you never want to see again — all you have to do is take this short little survey and tell us what we're doing right (and how to improve). Your input is greatly, greatly appreciated!
The Hills Beauty Quiz: "Stress And The City" The title of this episode cracks me up. Now that Whitney and Lauren are going to New York to work, life for these gals isn't all just fun and games anymore. At the same time, the perks look pretty damn good. Lunches out, cocktail dresses to the office and blithely meeting Marc Jacobs — c'mon ladies, work can't be that stressful!
David Duchovny stopped by to visit his wife Tea Leoni all bundled up in her big coat on the set of her new movie Ghost Town in NYC. I was never a big fan of The X Files but having fallen in love with Californication I am now fully on the Duchovny bandwagon. Especially after last night's season finale, which I loved, maybe I'll have to start brushing up on my 90s sci-fi.
