Strike Cancels People's Choice Awards The Hollywood writers' strike has claimed its first casualty of the awards season: The People's Choice ceremony has been canceled. The awards, which nominated the likes of Justin Timberlake and Jason Bourne just a few weeks ago, were scheduled for a Jan.8 broadcast on CBS, hosted by Queen Latifah.
Tom and Katie stepped out of Raffles L'Hermitage in Beverly Hills this morning on their way out to lunch after spending her birthday night at the hotel. I wonder if they were at all disturbed by Britney Spears, who was also at the hotel last night — kinda funny. Santa-in-training Katie looked festive in her red jacket alongside a dapper Tom. Katie's got her Mad Money coming out early next year, and in preparation she sat down with Parade magazine to chat about, what else, life with Tom. Here are highlights:
Does Tom get the way women talk together?
KH: My husband has three sisters. He was raised by a single mother and has two daughters — and he’s a great father and husband. His first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me “Mom.” So Tom understands the female bond, and he loves it. He was so excited for me to do this movie. He loved hearing all the stories.Everyone asks, “What’s Katie really like now?” How would you answer that?
KH: With everything that’s happened, I still feel the same. I’m really happy being a mom, being a wife. I understand the curiosity. It’s a reality for me, another dimension of awareness. I appreciate the man that I’m with and my family and my work. I feel very lucky to be able to say that. I mean, what we do in a week is extraordinary.Did you expect such a busy and public life?
KH: I am up for it. I love adventure. We do a lot of things that I couldn’t imagine doing when I was younger. And yet, at the same time, I always wanted to see the world. It is a big life, and it’s exciting. I learn from my husband, and I learn things about myself. I learn about things from my daughter. She teaches me a lot. Every day I do count my blessings.
Serious ouch for Nicole Kidman who recently said that Connor and Isabella don't call her mom and now Katie is just throwing it out there that they do call her that. Maybe it's all part of their arrangement. As for the rest of it, I do love how just how happy and thankful Katie always seems with her life. Awww.
Mary J. Blige celebrated her new album, Growing Pains, in a giant fur coat and with friends last night in NYC. Her husband Kendu was by her side on the red carpet. She was keeping her fabulous figure all covered up to keep warm, but we all know what a hot bod she's rocking underneath all that white fur. She's obviously looking fab, but it turns out that Mary J. is a woman after my own heart. She recently talked about how much she hates working out even though it's a necessary evil. True that.

The Biggest Loser Recap: Season 4 Finale! Last night was the season finale of The Biggest Loser and it was a good one. I will say that it was not as amazing as last year's finale, but still pretty darn motivating. While the production was a little off, as it always is, with way too much confetti and delays, I was still totally engrossed.
Mischa Barton is making the rounds promoting her new movie Closing the Ring which is just one of 7 movies the actress was working on. It doesn't seem as if she is slowing down anytime soon either. The actress has supposedly signed on to star in a new film called Homecoming, directed by Morgan Freeman. Mischa will be playing a girl who is psychologically imbalanced, and we have a feeling she'll be able to use her experience playing troubled teen Marissa Cooper to help her out with this one. She may not be rolling out the biggest blockbusters just yet, but it sounds like Mischa is on her way to being one of Hollywood's hardest workers.
