It was just a run of the mill gossip week until the very last moment and then, BAM, out of literally nowhere (right in the midst of wondering whether or not Britney had embarked on a vision quest in search of more rhinestoned men's accessories, as we hadn't seen her in a couple of days), the gal checks into rehab! Yay for healthy decisions! Moments later we learned that she immediately checked out of rehab! Boo for playing with our supportive well wishing emotions! Aaaand we're spent, but before that rollercoaster there was all of this:

• Leading up to um, that tour of a rehab facility, Britney's ex man proved himself to be a d-bag while she just couldn't make a decision about what she wanted to wear in the club.
• In a shocking turn of events, Lohan continued her streak of acting, and looking like a responsible young lady. So she was set free from rehab.
• Jessica and John kept it mellow in the midwest, but they weren't the only celebs spotted by you all.
• Love really was in the air, wasn't it?
• American Idol narrowed down to 24. We told you our picks, now fill out a ballot and tell us yours.
• Some celebs premiered some movies. It was thrilling. We swear.
• Remember the Grammys? Yeah, they were this week, too.
• Miss the funniest moments on TV this week? Well it's lucky you've got us, now, isn't it?
• And now...it's onward and OSCARward!!

Ryan and Reese seem to be handling their divorce in a classy way. No one is dragging the other through the dirt for the sake of those adorable kids. Even if we are sad that they split (and the supposed reason why), Ryan is still getting cute points. Most recently he appeared on Ellen to promote Breach and ended up talking about the woman who is helping him deal with the divorce and who inspires him most, his daughter. Here's highlights:

"It's devastating," Phillippe tells DeGeneres, "but the bottom line is the focus is on the children, and they're doing amazingly well and that's really all that matters."

"Going through something like this, as difficult as it is, my daughter has been the inspiration – my 7-year-old daughter Ava," Phillippe said.

The little girl is beyond her years in "conscientiousness and maturity," he says. "I know it sounds pathetic – I'm a 32-year-old guy, but my 7-year-old daughter is getting me through the toughest time in my life, and that's beautiful too."

Ugh. So sad! It makes you almost forget all the rumors about his infidelities - almost.

Oh Lohan, remember just two short months ago when you were literally spending nights in hotel hallways and suspicious lengths of time in nightclub bathrooms with anyone and everyone who would join you? Aww, you've come so far, doll! Plus, any wreck you ever made of yourself is nothing compared to Ms. Spears (not to mention, as much flack as I gave you about leaving rehab all the time, you still beat Brit's under 24 hour stay). Denise Richards was out and about in Beverly Hills with Sam yesterday. Unfortunately, their mother-daughter day was seriously interrupted when Denise's parked SUV was sideswiped. She said: "The guy took my door off, I was taking her out on the other side and he took the door off!"

Denise and Sam look pretty shaken up, but luckily Richie was there to save the day. (The cupcakes probably didn't hurt either). Even when distressed, Denise still looks good - as for Richie...maybe he had to get dressed in a hurry. We're just glad to hear that nobody was hurt.

Hugh Grant isn't as lucky in love as the characters he plays in his films. He and his girlfriend Jemima Khan have ended their three-year relationship. "Hugh and Jemima have decided to split amicably," his publicist told People. What's weird is that Hugh was on The View this morning referring to his girlfriend and how she has made him more stylish. The show was apparently pre-taped but not by that many days so it's amazing how quickly things change. We have a feeling Hugh won't be single too long, but he'll still never really settle down. He is the ultimate serial monogamist/commitment phobe, after all.

Oh, talk about nauseatingly cute, Ben and Jen looked like twins (which one is Arnold vs. DeVito?) while out in LA this week. There's really nothing bad to say about these two, other than suggesting Ben lose the goatee. Otherwise, celebrity couples of child-desiring age, take note -- this is how you make it work, make yourself look normal, and still make boatloads of cash (and believe me, Ben learned this the hard way).

Keith is one of the few stars of late who've managed to stay in rehab for an extended period of time to take getting better very seriously. Now he's on a world tour promoting his album Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing. Keith looked in tiptop shape during his appearance on the Today Show. Still, the past few months haven't been easy. Luckily, he says he's learned a lot from his experience and even grown closer to Nicole through the whole ordeal. Here's highlights:

"I can't really quantify it, because it's not a soundbite what we've learned," the singer, 39, said on Friday's Today show. "But," he added, "it's really profound."

Speaking on American TV for the first time since he left rehab on Jan. 18, Urban said of his relationship: "They say grief makes hearts and closer bonds than joy ever can. We've been through a lot, and she's been extraordinary."

Well, we can't honestly say that we didn't see this one coming. Extra is reporting that Britney Spears has checked herself into a rehab facility. The past few weeks of partying look to have been particularly hard on Brit and the whole world has been there to watch her downward spiral. We sincerely hope that her efforts to become healthy are successful and that she commits herself fully to recovery. We know at least two little boys who must be really pulling for their mom right now. There have been no official statements as of yet, so stay tuned for more details.

Update: TMZ is reporting that Britney did check into a rehab facility out of the country, but checked out a day later because she refused to stay.

Update #2: Britney checked into Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua "two or three days ago," but checked out a day later and traveled to Florida. She is rumored to be on her way back to LA right now.

Update #3: Britney's rep is deny, deny, denying it all.
