Joaquin showed up at the Toronto Film Festival looking a bit rough but he cleaned up nicely for the premiere of Reservation Road. He looked a bit shy leaving the festival but maybe he was just tired out from all the dance moves he so elegantly displayed. Joaquin showed both his goofy and serious sides when talking about how the role in the movie affected him personally. Here's more:

"I'm going to be frank with you," he says, shifting sideways in his chair, admitting that in the past he probably talked about how certain roles might have been affected by his personal life.

"But, to be honest ... there is no effect on your real life. And if I said so in the past, I was probably only trying to get nominated."

And since, after being nominated twice for Oscars, it's no longer an issue?

"And now that that's done," he laughs. "I can finally be honest."

Well, now that Joaquin isn't trying so hard for the Oscar, maybe this will be the year that he finally gets to win one.

Michelle is leaving the red to her ex Heath, but she looked happy to go with the classic black Ray Ban Wayfarers out in Soho yesterday. I can't imagine it was awesome to already be reading stories in the gossip columns about Heath flirting it up with a former supermodel, but hopefully she's not letting it get to her. In fact, she looks like she's in better spirits already. Maybe someday we'll even get to see her with a big old smile back on her face.

After making an appearance stateside for Fashion Rocks, Fergie was back overseas to perform with the Black Eyed Peas in Sweden this week. Lucky girl spent the day getting her European shopping fix, but not all is well on the Black Eyed Peas front. Apparently BEP member Taboo had to miss the concert in Stockholm after being rushed to the hospital with possible food poisoning. Sounds icky and we hope he gets well soon!

The predominant theme this week was Britney, Britney, Britney. It all started with her VMA performance - which was a mess. We gave our takes, while the rest of the world it seems all had a reason or twenty to explain why it was so bad. No Emmys for her though. Happy birthday to both SP and JJ, too! Believe it or not, there was more this week. Here's what else went down:

• There were other guys, girls and performances at the VMAs, too!
• Which was apparently a little much for JT, who subsequently canceled two shows.
• Christina hasn't told us yet, but psssst, I think she's pregnant.
• NY Fashion Week wound down and J Lo left us wondering.
• Kanye was a baby, a lot, but it paid off in the end.
• Toronto Film Festival rolled on with all sorts of beautiful people.
• OMG, you guyssss. Bilson got a job!
• And Mary-Kate was so cute!
• Fight Club reunion!!!
• We got lotsa Charlize, which is a nice change of pace.
• And Reese, which is always a treat.
