Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz went samesies on their straightened hairstyles while out to lunch in Hollywood Wednesday.
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were attached at the hip, or hand, out to lunch yesterday afternoon before getting dressed up for last night's big Cloverfield premiere (she liked it). It couldn't have been too too late of a night for the adorable duo, however, because Ashlee was perfectly peppy and happy to chat this afternoon when Pop and I got her on the phone. We'll be bringing you more details from our conversation soon (thank you so much for all the questions!), but in the meantime here's a taste of what we got to talking about with Miss Simpson.
Ashlee was all about her new single and upcoming album (end of March) and is excited to start out soon on her promotional club tour before her real tour with the band. She was also happy to impart her personal mottos — "go to bed happy and content with who you are" — and laughed as she told us that if her life had gone differently she would have been a hair colorist. We also got the chance (there's much more coming, don't worry) to ask about Pete's upcoming Barack Obama fund-raiser next week in Chicago. She won't be able to make it, but she's very supportive of her boyfriend's project. Overall the most important thing is that she sounded happy — yay. More to come from our interview soon...
Before making her triumphant return to the red carpet at the premiere of Cloverfield last night, Lindsay Lohan spent the day grabbing lunch and hitting the salon to primp for the big event. She wasn't quite ready for any interviews, but her fellow party-goers were happy to weigh in on her presence. Both Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt mentioned how much they'd like to meet her, while Kristin Cavallari went so far to say, "I'm really proud of her that she took (her addiction) seriously this time." Sounds like LL still has plenty of people in her corner but we hope we won't see her hitting up the Hollywood nightlife with MTV's favorite reality stars anytime soon.
Sad news coming from Lily Allen's camp. News just came out that the 22-year-old singer suffered a miscarriage soon after returning from vacation with her boyfriend Ed Simon. Her rep confirmed the sad news and had this to say: “We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.” Our thoughts are with Lily and Ed during this difficult time.
After Tom spent his afternoon around town with Jerry Seinfeld and Katie promoted Mad Money, the Cruise trio met up for dinner last night and Suri was the star of the show. There are a lot of things — good bad and everything in between — being said about Tom and Scientology this week, perhaps more than ever with the simultaneous unauthorized biography release. In case you missed it, there was a whole new batch of videos this morning continuing to uncover more of what goes on behind closed doors. None of that wipes the grins off Tom and Katie's faces, however. Plus there's no way not to smile seeing little Suri and her bottle.

In lieu of getting our Gossip Girl fix on TV this week, we have to catch up on the real life rumors the co-stars are facing. Blake Lively donned her designer Chanel gown last night to the Nuit de Diamants gala. It's not our favorite dress but we'd love to re-create her uptown makeup look. At the event Blake partied alongside alleged boyfriend Penn Badgley but she is avoiding the romance rumors, saying, "Everybody always tries to dig into your personal life or create things that aren't there... it's silly." That doesn't sound like an outright denial and we heard they were close-talking, so we're going to hope that Serena and Dan are enjoying a real-life romance — just like Summer and Seth! Besides, a picture tells a thousand words - so you be the judge.
Katherine Heigl got all glammed up in red to chat with David Letterman in NYC last night. She was there to plug 27 Dresses of course, but she couldn't help but to chat more about her husband Josh (or "Joshua," as she likes to call him) and their winter wedding. Usually, we can expect Heigl to gush about her man, but this time around she decided to call him out for getting injured right before the wedding and losing his ring just days afterwards. Guess the honeymoon period is over already.
