Despite that bag, Jessica Simpson looked cute as a button making her way through LAX yesterday afternoon. She's been hanging out in LA for the past couple of weeks filling her time with lots of dinners out and the like, but soon she'll be bringing smiles to more than just any starstruck waiters. Jess is heading to Kuwait to perform for the troops as part of Operation MySpace along with the Pussycat Dolls and Carlos Mencia among others. Jessica said:

"It’s truly an honor to perform for the troops. Through Operation MySpace, I get to serve my country by doing what I love to do in front of thousands of brave men in uniform. It’s every girl’s dream!"

Sigh, somehow that didn't come out right but her heart is in the right place. While there's always some way to make fun of Jess, she definitely deserves applause for taking the time to visit the troops abroad and maybe even show off some of that country music she's been working on.

Fresh off her trip to Milan for Fashion Week, Lindsay Lohan broke out her denim cutoffs to take full advantage of the sunshine in LA yesterday. LL is back to the daily grind after making a splash with her nude photos last week, but the execs over at New York Magazine are probably still patting themselves on the back. The spread was a huge success, drawing 34 million pageviews translating into major online ad sales and Ms Lohan didn't even get paid a dime. Goes to show that Lindsay can still sell magazines — just as long as she's willing to show some skin.

Mischa Barton looked surprisingly hot, both in the summer-y way and just looking good, out magazine shopping in LA yesterday. It fit right in with her general strategy of counteracting bad news — this time being formally charged with four misdemeanors for her December DUI and marijuana possession situation — with a positive photo op. At least this time she just looked pretty rather than beating us over the head with her innocence. You all seem to be fans of a more wholesome Miss Barton, but we can't forget about her scandalous streak just yet.

Despite the warm weather in LA, Lauren Conrad and her BFF Lo didn't look very sunny outside of their house yesterday. Maybe some time with all those wonderful goodies will help their spirits — pretty flowers! shopping bags! puppies! The preview is already promising a lot of scandal, and we have to admit that we're pretty excited for all of the dirt, catfights, and geeky gadgets.
