Avatar, Mad Men, and Glee Take Home the Gold at the Globes

The Beverly Hilton Hotel was star-studded last night as the Golden Globes took over.

The Beverly Hilton Hotel was star-studded last night as the Golden Globes took over. The evening was kicked off by host Ricky Gervais cracking up the A-list crowd with his sarcastic opening monologue, before one of the first awards of the evening went to the extremely grateful Mo'Nique for her work in Precious. Drew Barrymore was honored for her work in Grey Gardens, and she was later able to thank Justin Long and Jessica Lange from the press room. Big TV honors for the ladies went to Toni Collette for The United States of Tara and Julianna Margulies of The Good Wife. Michael C. Hall took home a win for his work in Dexter, and retreated to the press room afterward to talk about going public with his cancer fight. Alec Baldwin won for 30 Rock, though he wasn't able to attend, and his statue was accepted by presenters Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher.

The Hollywood Foreign Press loves to praise the newcomers and this year Glee won Best TV Comedy which left Tina Fey of 30 Rock looking a little stunned. Mad Men did it again by capturing the Best TV Drama but in the press room, January Jones was all about sharing her love for Jersey Shore. Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Aniston all skipped the red carpet, but they all looked fabulous on stage presenting awards — especially Jen with the up-to-there slit in her black gown. Meryl Steep and Sandra Bullock humbly accepted their honors for their film work, while Jeff Bridges took home gold for Crazy Heart and Robert Downey Jr. won for Sherlock Holmes. James Cameron of Avatar quoted a little of the Na'vi language when he took the award for Best Director, and he was full of praise for the film industry when he spoke at the podium once again while accepting the Best Motion Picture Drama award for his movie. The stars also made a special effort to direct the audience's attention toward giving generously to Haiti, but all in all it was a big night for Hollywood — make sure to check out Buzz's full list of winners!

Brad Pitt brought Maddox along Saturday on a trip to New Orleans. The two were front and center to see the city's Saints take home a postseason win against the Arizona Cardinals, where Maddox enjoyed playing with a football. Meanwhile, back in LA, Angelina Jolie passed her afternoon out and about running errands with Shiloh and Zahara. Angelina and Brad skipped out on last night's Golden Globes, but we're still holding out hope for an award season appearance. Both Brad and Angelina took a break from their family routine to issue a statement on the situation in Haiti, as they joined the many other celebs getting active about bringing help to the devastated region. They still managed to have fun with their kids over the weekend — click through to see their good times.

The Ladies Have Color and Sparkle Despite the Gray in LA

A little rain didn't dampen the fashion show on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes in LA.

A little rain didn't dampen the fashion show on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes in LA. Some of our favorite ladies had to accessorize with umbrellas, but apart from wet trains, they seemed pretty unfazed. Diane Kruger led the evening's artsy trend in her bold pink Christian Lacroix gown, while Cameron Diaz went bright in her red Alexander McQueen. Sandra Bullock also decided on color with purple, though Marion Cotillard went a little more low-key in a muted dark green. Jennifer Garner, meanwhile, opted to go the sparkly route in Versace.

A few ladies, though, decided to forgo the color — Penelope Cruz chose black with a part-lace Giorgio Armani Prive gown, as did January Jones with her Lanvin. Kate Hudson and Anna Kendrick took opposite approaches, each choosing to go with light Marchesa numbers. Drew Barrymore also picked Versace, though her dress was one-shouldered and nude-colored. Fab and Bella had things covered on the style and beauty fronts with their love it or hate it polls, so make sure to check in with them for all the latest news from the carpet!

The Guys of the Golden Globes Hit the Red Carpet in Black Tie

The ladies weren't the only ones shining on last night's red carpet at the Golden Globes — the men held their own and looked dapper in black tie attire.

The ladies weren't the only ones shining on last night's red carpet at the Golden Globes — the men held their own and looked dapper in black tie attire. George Clooney was in a tux alongside his frequent award show companion Elisabetta Canalis, as New Moon hunk Taylor Lautner arrived solo. Justin Bartha and Bradley Cooper starred together in The Hangover, but they posed for photos alone before heading inside to meet up at their table.

George wasn't the only one with a lady on his arm, as nominee Tobey Maguire posed for photos with his wife Jennifer Meyer. Jon Hamm brought his longtime love Jennifer Westfeldt, though it was hard to focus on much else besides the beard he says he grew out of laziness. His fellow TV stars Matthew Morrison of Glee and Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford also made their way down in front of the flashbulbs. The good times continued once the gang gathered again inside the Beverly Hills Hotel — stay tuned for more updates from the big night!

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock Rides Her Blind Side High to the Golden Globes Press Room

Sandra Bullock looked absolutely stunning in her purple dress, though she got a little worried that it might be see through in the lights when she stepped on stage in the press room after winning her Best Actress Golden Globe for The Blind Side.

Sandra Bullock looked absolutely stunning in her purple dress, though she got a little worried that it might be see through in the lights when she stepped on stage in the press room after winning her Best Actress Golden Globe for The Blind Side. As usual, she gushed about the real-life family the movie was based on and she also had some very sweet things to say about her two- and three-legged doggies. Here's a few more highlights from Sandra:

  • On having such success after taking a break from Hollywood: "How crazy is that? What is the metaphor here? Let go, and go to food. It will get you awards. I do think you need to get away from this town to where your art can exist. I become things I shouldn't be. I go to where I can be myself and be more clear. I'm just really lucky because the performances this year — I don't know how you can choose."
  • On how to top this year: "I don't want to top it. I've always said I was really happy before all this because I found what my happiness was. I didn't want to leave home. I was so happy at home and I'd never had that before, so leaving that – it had to be amazing."
  • On the double standard between men and women over 40: "It's still a little bit different, but it's gotten so much better. I look back at my year and I say wow, I had such great successes and they were written by men — The Proposal and The Blind Side. I just feel that if you write it, they will come. But you also need to get a studio to finance it, there are so many variables. You look at what Sarah Jessica Parker has done, Meryl Streep — I mean, women do pull in some money."
