George Clooney debuted a salt and pepper goatee during a press interview in southern Sudan on Saturday. The actor is in the area to draw attention to the country's political situation, and he brought along a handful of TV cameras and reporters on his trip. John Kerry was also there to witness the historic event and chat with George. Clooney has been spending a lot of time and attention focusing on Sudan recently, including an October visit with Ann Curry and a series of meetings with President Obama. George was in serious mode, but he was still sporting a glow from his holiday getaway to Mexico with Elisabetta, some friends, and her family. Elisabetta was all about her tiny bikinis during the vacation, while George stuck with his blue shorts and t-shirts uniform. As for his acting career, George is looking to be back on location near his home in Italy when he stars in the adaptation of best-selling nonfiction book The Monster of Florence.

Kate Hudson and a friend left lunch at Cafe Vida in Pacific Palisades, CA on Friday. She's getting back to her regular routine in LA now that she's home from her annual family vacation to Aspen. Kate's boyfriend Matt Bellamy joined her, Goldie Hawn and the rest of their family for the holidays. Kate has plenty of downtime before her Summer movie Something Borrowed hits theaters in June, though Matt will be back on the road with Muse in just a few months.

Halle Berry held hands with a friend as they left an event at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills on Thursday night. The actress accessorized her low-key outfit with a giant emerald and diamond ring on her left hand — perhaps it was a Christmas present from her buddy Santa. She's just wrapped up a fun holiday season with her daughter Nahla that even included some warm weather beach time. Halle is expected to trade her bikinis for a gown in order to hit the red carpet at next week's Golden Globes, where she's nominated in the best actress category for her role in Frankie and Alice — don't forget to fill out Buzz's Golden Globe ballot for your chance to win $1,000! Halle's also been named as a presenter at this year's Academy Awards, but we'll have to wait until Jan. 25 to find out if she's earned another Oscar nomination.
