Demi Moore wore a slim-cut red sheath dress and towering Brian Atwood heels at the Margin Call premiere in NYC on Monday evening. Demi was solo for the screening, but she kept a big smile on her face and her wedding ring on her finger despite the persistent rumors about the state of her marriage. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have yet to attend an event together since the infidelity stories broke last month, though they were reportedly spotted visiting a Kabbalah center together over the weekend in LA. Demi and Ashton were also photographed camping outside Santa Barbara earlier this month and there were moving trucks outside of their home last week that sparked even more speculation. While neither half of the couple have yet to publicly address the situation, Demi and Ashton are still going about their business. In addition to promoting her Lifetime project Five, he was on his own on Friday at Bill Clinton's star-studded 65th birthday bash.
Today, we were fortunate enough to participate in a round table with the first lady to hear more about the Let's Move initiative and discuss motherhood issues for the modern mom. The event kicked off with a photo of Mrs. Obama and the adorable Bo. The first lady explained, "We get so many letters from kids, who want to hear about the garden, they want to see it, and they also want to see Bo. Bo is really the most popular. So we decided to do this official picture that we could send to them when they write in. And we've heard so many great stories from kids who've been inspired and doing things like changing the way their families do things. And those letters are always just a joy to get. So we want to have something a little more tangible than just a letter to give to kids, because often it's the visual thing that makes it real." Bo, who is apparently not dressing up for Halloween, was able to take this beautiful photo in only three clicks!
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem dined out with their 10-month-old son Leo Bardem in Italy on Saturday. The trio sat down to share an al fresco lunch, and Penelope and Javier took turns holding a smiling Leo on their laps. He stuck to baby food, while mom and dad shared spaghetti and kept him entertained. The Bardem-Cruz family has been spending time in Rome in recent weeks while Penelope shoots Venuto al Mondo there. The film, which also stars Emile Hirsch, has taken them to Sarajevo and Croatia this Fall as well. Despite her busy work schedule, Penelope is clocking lots of quality time with her family members during the production. Earlier in the week, Penelope hung out with her sister Monica Cruz and her boyfriend Alex Gonzalez in the city. Javier has been taking a brief break from the big screen while the family travels for Penelope's new project, but he already has his next high profile project lined up — Javier confirmed his role as the next Bond villain!
Natalie Portman carried baby Aleph through the farmers market in LA yesterday. Natalie's fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, was also there, and he pushed a cart full of produce as the family of three wandered through the stalls. Natalie and Benjamin are on the West Coast following a trip last month to Switzerland, where Benjamin worked on choreography for the National Geneva Theater. The couple have been keeping a low profile since Aleph's birth, and they skipped this weekend's Scream Awards despite Natalie winning the best fantasy actress honors for her work in Black Swan. Natalie will be back on the big screen when Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace is rereleased in 3D next February, though we'll have to wait to see if she signs on to do the sequel to Thor after starring in the first film earlier this year.
Ryan Gosling and girlfriend Eva Mendes stole a kiss yesterday while out running errands in LA with her dog. The hot couple were traveling around town in Eva's car, and she waited in the driver's seat while Ryan stepped out to get them both coffees. Ryan had the day off from shooting The Gangster Squad, which has been keeping him busy on the West Coast. He's logging time on that set after wrapping up the Summer in Upstate New York with Eva shooting The Place Beyond the Pines. We won't get to see Ryan and Eva's chemistry on the big screen until next year, but they've clearly got some going on in real life, too.
Sofia Vergara donned a sexy black two-piece for a little rest and relaxation with her boyfriend Nick Loeb in Cabo yesterday. Sofia shaded her face with an oversize hat while Nick soaked up the sun shirtless. The couple got out of town right after Sofia celebrated President Clinton's 65th birthday on Thursday night. Sofia's in the middle of filming the third season of Modern Family and took a break from work to enjoy a mini vacation. Sofia and Nick indulged in "real Mexican" food when they weren't busy lounging poolside and showing sweet PDA in their skimpy outfits. Sofia's swimwear meant that she wasn't modeling anything from her new collection with KMart, but she's been promoting the line lately and wore a few pieces during a recent night out with Nick.
Justin Timberlake is branching out into new territory with his action-heavy role in this month's thriller In Time. The sci-fi movie takes place in a future where time is currency — the richest can afford to live forever, but most people are lucky to make it through their 20s. Justin plays Will Salas, a working-class guy who sets off on a race against the clock after he's suspected of murder. We spoke to Justin at the movie's press day in Beverly Hills this weekend, and he told us the story's themes — as well as the chance to shoot guns and make out with leading lady Amanda Seyfried — drew him to the project. He also talked about why acting is more personal to him than music and even admitted he tapped into his own dark side to portray Will. Stay tuned later this week for our full interview with Justin and check out In Time when it hits theaters on Oct. 28.
PopSugar: As someone whose own time is in such high demand, did the movie's theme especially appeal to you?
Justin Timberlake: I don't think I thought of it that way. When I read the script, for two or three days, I couldn’t stop thinking about the themes — that one being one of them — but also our obsession with looking young forever. But I think honestly, the reason I inevitably was like, "I have to play this guy," was because I hadn't had the opportunity to play a character that, at the end of the day, I hope I would be like if my back was against the wall. And I just saw this character as an everyday man who gets pushed too far and decides to fight back. And then you keep reading and it's like, "Oh, yeah, shooting guns and car chases and flipping cars around and kicking ass and kissing Amanda." You know. You're kind of like, "Yeah, OK. I'm in."
PS: You've done some great roles in the past few years. What do you get out of acting that's different than what you got out of singing?
JT: Well, listen . . . I could give you nine things that are the same, or that I could find comparable, but I actually weirdly enough find acting [and] working on movies to be a way more personal experience than making music. I think that, at least for me, you get an idea for a song and then you make it sort of as fantastical and sonically otherworldly as you can. And you take a movie like this, and even though you're in another world, it's your job to be as grounded and real as possible, and a lot of the scenes in this movie for me were personal. I found myself accessing a lot of my own personal demons . . . fears, but also fantasies.
Gwyneth Paltrow had a fun-filled Fall weekend with her kids in NYC, visiting a park and Halloween costume store. Her husband, Chris Martin, didn't accompany his family on the outings, but Gwyneth was on his mind during a recent interview. Hear what he had to say about his wife during a rare moment of sharing in today's PopSugar Rush!
