Reese Witherspoon slipped into a one-piece and kicked off her Fourth of July festivities yesterday with a swim in Malibu. She splashed around with her kids, Ava and Deacon Phillippe, and played on the beach with their French bulldog Coco. Jim got in on the fun too, tossing around a foam football with Deacon and later offering drinks to Reese and their friends. Later in the day Jim and Reese took two romantic walks on the beach. First the newlyweds were spotted walking hand in hand with Reese wearing a patriotic red, white, and blue ensemble while Jim broke out one of Matthew McConaughey's Just Keep Livin' t-shirts. Next the family of four changed into new outfits to watch a beautiful sunset. It's a repeat of holiday fun in Malibu for Reese, Jim, and the kids who partied with Sean Penn at his luxurious home last Summer. Hope everyone is having a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Tom Cruise turned 49 yesterday, and to celebrate, his wife, Katie Holmes, threw him a surprise bash in Miami. Katie, along with their kids, Connor and Suri, threw Tom Cruise's birthday party on the roof of the city's Soho House. The family has been based at the lux hotel for the long weekend, with Katie and Suri seen entering on Friday and Connor spotted on Saturday. Yesterday, though, the foursome kicked things off with a swim. Tom Cruise went shirtless while Katie wore a black bikini, and Suri even had her face painted. They then moved inside for Tom Cruise's birthday meal, which included yummy treats like pasta, shrimp, more Italian dishes, as well as a special chocolate cake. Tom has been in Florida working on Rock of Ages. He's earned at least one fan in director Adam Shankman. Adam gave Tom an early birthday present by tweeting on Thursday, "I promise: Tom is brilliant in this movie. The hardest working actor I've ever worked with. You'll be blown away."

LeAnn Rimes got patriotic in a skimpy red bikini to hit the beach with her shirtless husband, Eddie Cibrian, in Malibu today. LeAnn wanted to preserve the moment with photos, and she used her phone to snap pictures of herself and Eddie as well as his kids, Mason and Jake. Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes went on a bikini-filled honeymoon getaway to Mexico to kick off the Summer at the end of May, and now they're keeping the fun going with an Independence Day celebration in the sand.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went head to head in a friendly dragon boat race today on Prince Edward Island. Prince William was the victor, and he shared an affectionate embrace with his bride after they stepped back onto land. It was a gray and rainy day, but William and Kate's spirits were high as they raced. Later, they took part in a traditional Mi'kmaq smudging ceremony and tasted local delicacies. PEI apparently has special significance to Kate, since one of her favorite books, Anne of Green Gables takes place there. Kate Middleton was heard talking about Anne of Green Gables, saying, 'She [Anne] was a real heroine. You could lose yourself in it. I loved it." William showed off his pilot skills with a turn landing and taking off from a helicopter on the water. Kate's look was casual for the athletic afternoon; though, earlier in the day she wore a gorgeous sweater dress from Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton, the same designer behind the duchess's iconic royal wedding gown.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, wore two white outfits for her Sunday afternoon and Monday morning in Canada. On July 3, Kate sported a simple dress, while this morning she looked sporty in her Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton sweater dress and ponytail for a stop by the Province House in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The casual hairdo was perfect for later in the afternoon when William and Kate competed against each other in a dragon boat race. Earlier in the weekend, Prince William and Kate visited at-risk youth and participated in an interfaith church service, where Kate revealed to a local father that she "hopes" to have kids soon. Today is the fifth day of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's North American tour, and they barely have time to catch their breath between events with another full week ahead including a weekend in LA to cap it off.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner brunched with their daughters, Violet and Seraphina, Saturday at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. The gathering at the hotel, which is not far from their LA home, gave the Garner-Afflecks a chance to ease into the long weekend together. Jennifer and Violet got a head start on the fun Friday when they stepped out for a swim. Ben began celebrating the July 4 holiday with his girls during a break from prepping for a return to directing the movie Argo. He cast himself as the lead, and it was recently announced Bryan Cranston will star in Argo, too.

Pippa Middleton and Alex Loudon held hands yesterday on their way to watch a cricket match at London's Lords Cricket grounds. It was their latest sport-filled afternoon, following an outing to Wimbledon earlier in the week. Pippa went once with Alex, then returned Friday to see a semi-final match with friends. Pippa is hanging out in England with pals and family while her sister Kate is off in Canada with her husband Prince William. Kate and Pippa share the UK media spotlight — Pippa even landed on the latest cover of Tatler magazine. There were rumors about Pippa's love life in the press after she and Alex weren't spotted together for weeks. It seems, though, that Alex Loudon was away on business, working with his SABMiller finance colleagues on a takeover of the Australian beer company Foster's.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to a youth project, Maison Dauphine, yesterday after arriving in Quebec City. Kate was fresh off the HMCS Montreal looking gorgeous in four-inch heels and a lacy blue gown from Erdem, the second piece from the Canadian-born, London-based designer she's worn during their trip. During Kate and William's time with the kids, they viewed art pieces and watched a performance from jugglers. Prince William addressed the at-risk youth, saying, "Don't ever let people put you down — because a prince looks up to you." Kate and William will head to the Northern Territories' Blachford Lake tomorrow to meet the First Canadian Ranger Patrol Group and tour greenhouses as well as organic gardens.
