Deacon Phillippe was all dressed up in a suit for a one-on-one dinner with his mom, Reese Witherspoon, in Brentwood on Friday night. Reese recently returned from her European honeymoon with husband Jim Toth, and she's right back to doting on the other important man in her life. Jim is back to work as a high-powered agent as well, and he's already helping line up his personal and professional lives. Reese and Matthew McConaughey, who is Jim's client, are working out a deal to costar in a romantic comedy, Mud. Reese also just signed on to star in Wish List, about a woman whose 10 childhood wishes come true as an adult.

This week brought romance for many of our favorite celebrities! Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux took off for a Hawaiian getaway together, Prince William and Kate Middleton looked adorable in matching casual outfits, and Angelina Jolie had Brad Pitt by her side as she accepted an award at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Meanwhile, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz took baby Leo for a beachside vacation and Kate Moss showed off her supermodel assets with a topless dip in the waters of St. Tropez on her own holiday. Jennifer Garner held her daughter Violet's hand on the way into ballet in LA on Friday. The 5-year-old was adorable in her pink tutu and leotard, which she paired with a set of red slippers. Violet's friend Ruby Maguire is in the same ballet class, and their famous moms are sometimes spotted dropping the girls off together. Violet has tons of athletic activities on her slate, including karate, which Jennifer also brought her to last week.

Kate Hudson had lunch with her girl friends, including jewelry designer and Tobey Maguire's wife Jennifer Meyer, at the Ivy on the Shore in Santa Monica on Friday. Kate has been hanging out in Malibu with Ryder and Matthew Bellamy since giving birth to son Bingham in early July, so she ventured a few miles south for an afternoon with her ladies. There have been lots of affectionate beach days for Kate Hudson and Matthew since the arrival of their little one, though we've yet to see baby Bing out and about. Matthew took off earlier in the week to join his Muse bandmates to play Lollapalooza in Chicago this weekend. Matthew and Muse will be back west next Saturday to headline the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco, so perhaps Kate will make the trek up the coast to cheer him on.

Blake Lively showed off her famous legs in a short skirt filming Gossip Girl in LA on Friday. The fashionable starlet sported an OdlR ring and earrings to complete the look. Blake and her costars Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick are shooting in California at the moment so it looks like Serena's move out west at the end of last season draws a few of her Upper East Sider friends. The timing is convenient for Blake, who is also shooting her Oliver Stone movie Savages in LA. Her boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio had his own obligations in the city this week since he was honored at the star-studded HFPA luncheon on Thursday. His film J. Edgar just got a November release date, which means it's in prime placement for award season and perhaps he'll have Blake on his arm as he hits the red carpets along the way.
