Robert Pattinson stopped by The Daily Show With Jon Stewart today before attending the NYC premiere of Cosmopolis decked out in a slick blue Gucci suit. It was Robert's first day of publicity for the movie since his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, was caught cheating with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. Jon Stewart managed to talk around the elephant in the room, offering Robert Pattinson ice cream and "girl talk." Robert avoided actually digging into his Karamel Sutra ice cream, joking that he didn't want to bust through his two pairs of Spanx.

Jon did lend his support, though, saying that he knows breakups can feel like the end of the world. Robert responded, "It is," though he didn't confirm or deny an actual split from Kristen. Robert Pattinson, dressed in Gucci, hit the red carpet in NYC tonight for the premiere of Cosmopolis. It's the first time Robert has been spotted in public since the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal. He posed for photos before moving inside for the screening. Hundreds of fans came out to show their support for Rob, some even lining up overnight to get a glimpse of the star. Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg and Rob's leading lady from the movie, Sarah Gadon, were also both there amid the fan frenzy.

The film made its worldwide debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May, but now Rob's sharing his David Cronenberg-directed project with a North American audience. Kristen Stewart was on hand for the French premiere, though that was before the photos of Kristen cheating with Rupert Sanders emerged. Since then, Rob reportedly moved out of their shared Los Feliz, CA, home and retreated to Reese Witherspoon's Ojai estate to avoid the spotlight. Today marks the first of many upcoming promotional appearances for Rob. In addition to the premiere, he also taped an episode of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and is scheduled to ring the bell at the NY Stock Exhange tomorrow, followed by a GMA stop on Wednesday and an MTV appearance on Thursday.

The 2012 London Olympics have come to a close! The closing ceremony wrapped up in London last night, and there were many famous Brits who took part in the fun. The theme was a celebration of British music, and British bands Muse, the Spice Girls, George Michael, The Who, and even the guys of One Direction were on stage! The production included a particularly optimistic note from Monty Python's Eric Idle with "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

There was also a tribute to British fashion, with models Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Karen Elson strutting their stuff. The royals were in attendance to see the spectacle, with Kate Middleton and Prince Harry having prime seats. Check out all the closing ceremony pictures here!

The 2012 London Olympics have come to a close! The 16-day athletic extravaganza came to a close yesterday with the closing ceremony, featuring a who's who of British musical acts including the Spice Girls, The Who, and Muse. The Beckham family and the royals were all over checking out the action. Team USA had a great deal to be proud of — we racked up more medals than any other nation with a whopping count of 104 between gold, bronze, and silver! We crowned new American Sweethearts thanks to amazing performances from Gabby Douglas, Missy Franklin, Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps, the US basketball team, and so many more.
