Josh Duhamel dropped by the POPSUGAR offices in San Francisco this afternoon bearing sweet treats and a sexy smile. He had author Nicholas Sparks along for the fun as the duo promoted Safe Haven, which is the big-screen adaptation of Nicholas's book and also stars Julianne Hough. Josh and Julianne filmed the movie last Summer in Southport, NC, and we were able to visit the set and chat with the stars while they were on location. During our latest encounter with Josh today, he posted up in a photo booth to snap pictures with our staff, offered cupcakes to our editors, and even shared that he actually lived in San Francisco in the late '90s. Nicole Kidman covers the new Sundance issue of The Hollywood Reporter. The Australian beauty donned a floppy hat on the front of the magazine, but inside, she was more dressed-down in a t-shirt and jeans as well as a simple white blouse. Nicole spoke candidly about the her latest attraction toward indie films and even opened up a little about her views on Scientology. Here's more from Nicole Kidman in The Hollywood Reporter:

• On shocking scenes: "Violence is a lot more shocking than sex — sex is primal. Lee [Daniels] had an obsession about shooting me from behind — he was obsessed with my ass! To me, that was so funny. He's hilarious; I love him. I'm drawn to Lee for his wild nature."
• On independent films: "My heart is independent. I come from Australia; I was trained in indie movies. It's an unconscious decision — it's who I am. As an actor, you live and die by your choices. I don't associate with mainstream films anymore. I don't do so well in them, either. I guess I have a foot in both worlds. I've been offered some studio films this year and turned them down. They just didn't align with who I am."
• On Scientology: "I've chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs."

Kate's known for her lavish birthday parties, and this year will likely include much of the same. The past 12 months have seen Kate settling into married life, but not slowing down her traveling by any means. She's taken multiple Caribbean getaways, jaunts to Europe, and more. The life of a supermodel requires constant travel, and Kate's clearly up to the task.

Angels Adriana Lima and Erin Heatherton kicked off the launch party for Victoria's Secret's new fitness line at NYC's Herald Square yesterday. The fiercely fit models showed off the brand's latest gear with right hooks, jabs, and a display of their fun personalities. During the event, Erin shared a picture of Adriana on Instagram "showing her how it's done" as she taped Erin into a sparkling black pair boxing gloves and the two sparred in style. This is the girls' second modeling stint together this month after they also teamed up to take on the catwalk at Dosso Dossi’s fashion show last week in Istanbul, where they modeled the Turkish designer’s Spring 2013 collection.

Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz took in the sights of their hometown, Madrid, on Saturday afternoon. Penélope and Javier took a walk through a park and afterward stopped for a drink. It's an exciting time for Javier, Penélope, and their family — her sister Monica Cruz announced her pregnancy. Monica wrote a blog for the newspaper El Pais about her decision to have a child through artificial insemination.

Both Penélope and Javier have skipped out on award season so far despite Javier's Skyfall being nominated for — and ultimately winning — best action film at last week's Critics' Choice Awards. Javier was also recognized with an individual acting nod at the Golden Globes but opted out of attending. We'll see if Javier decides to attend next month's BAFTAs, which are slightly closer to Spain in London. The film is up for eight BAFTAs, including individual honors for both Javier and his costar Judi Dench.

Kate Moss and her husband, Jamie Hince, treated themselves to a low-key dinner at The Red Lion & Sun pub in London tonight. It was a rather simple outing despite a very special occasion — today is Kate Moss's birthday! In past years, she's marked her annual milestones with blown-out bashes, some of which lasted for days. Their meal together may have been just a prelude of what's to come in 2013, though. Reports suggest Jamie is taking Kate to California for a wine tasting trip through the Napa Valley later this year when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Gwen Stefani took her youngest son, Zuma Rossdale, out in LA yesterday morning. Zuma wore a Spider-Man sweatshirt and let his mom give him a lift on the way to class. Later in the day, Gwen switched gears to take her oldest, Kingston Rossdale, to do some biking in Griffith Park.

The No Doubt singer has spent a hectic Fall and Winter promoting the band's new album, Push and Shove. No Doubt performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! just last week, but Gwen did take a break from her duties with the band over the holidays, spending time in London with Zuma, Kingston, and Gavin Rossdale. Gavin's adult daughter from a previous relationship, Daisy Lowe, also joined the family for a stroll in the city the day after Christmas.

Jessica Simpson wore a low-cut dress for an appearance on The Tonight Show yesterday. Fresh off an extended holiday vacation to Hawaii with her fiancé, Eric Johnson, their daughter, Maxwell, and a rotating cast of friends and family, Jess was ready to chat about her second pregnancy and her various work projects. One of those projects was announced yesterday morning — a Jessica Simpson scripted comedy is in the works at host Jay Leno's network, NBC.

Jessica was her usual funny candid self while talking with Jay about her expanding family. She said that she and Eric, who've been engaged for two years, "had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up! We're doing it very backwards. I'll just keep my legs crossed this time." As for their having two kids within two years, apparently it wasn't planned. Jessica admitted, "I was extremely shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. You know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened all over again!"
