Hi I'm Shannon Vestal and in Watch, Pass or Rent we're looking at 21 Jump Street. Inspired by the 80's series, this movie stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as a couple of undercover cops who go back to high school for a drug bust. There's a new synthetic drug at Sagan High. The mission is find the supplier. This is the first truly funny movie I've seen this year. Jonah and Channing teamed up in going back to school. It's like the perfect blend of action movie and high school comedy, and it had me laughing out loud the entire time. You are here because you some Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus looking mothers. Even though this movie has the same name as the 80s series starring Johnny Depp, it's completely different First off, it's a comedy, not a drama, and the characters are all new. And even though there are some throwbacks to the original show, you don't need to know anything about it to really love this movie. You have exceptional muscle tone there, young man! When did you go through puberty? Like, seven or something? I was expecting Jonah Hill to be as funny as he is in this movie, but I was not expecting Channing Tatum to get the same amount of I feel like we're used to seeing Channing dancing, fighting, and romancing a girl, but in this movie he really proves that he has great comedic timing. Are you guys on drugs? I don't like that. Put your tongue back in your mouth. I love the supporting cast. which includes Dave Franco and Rob Riggle. And it's also really fun to see some TV stars pop up, like Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman, The Office's Ellie Kemper, and New Girls' Jake Johnson. This is a cop movie, so a lot of action, but there were also some violent scenes that were more graphic than what I was expecting from a comedy. Still, the humor feels very fresh, and Channing and Jonah make the perfect odd couple, so I have to give watch.
