Are There Any Reality TV "Stars" Who Should Have Their Own Shows?

Are There Any Reality TV "Stars" Who Should Have Their Own Shows?

We've got some fun reality TV news today: my favorite member of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy's Fab Five, Ted Allen, will get his very own TV show on the Food Network, called Food Detectives. I love that guy, and could probably watch him all day.

I can't say the same about Brody Jenner who will be starring in his own reality show, Bromance, in which a bunch of guys will vie for Brody's friendship, with the elimination ceremonies taking place in . . . a hot tub. Sure. OK.

This got me thinking: Are there some reality TV personalities who should get their own show and others who should not? People might enjoy watching Project Runway champ Christian Siriano host a show, and I think Bridget from The Girls Next Door seems well-suited to TV hosting. Also, I'm not above admitting that I wouldn't mind rubbernecking the ridiculousness that is this year's Bachelor Matt and his "little monkey" Shayne if they were to have a show of their own.

Shameful? Perhaps. But there it is.

What do you think? Is there any reality TV "star" you'd watch if they had a show of their own?

I think the Wee Man should have his own show. Just watch Celebrity Circus on NBC and you'll agree with me. I believe it is on Wednesday nights at 9:30 PM...

With the expection of very few reality TV stars such as Ted Allen, I'd prefer that all of them shut up and disappear into the ether once their fifteen minutes are up.

I am tired of silly reality shows that make uninteresting people into "celebrities". On the other hand I really like the competition style reality shows like Project Runway and Top Chef and oh yes The Mole thank God it's back. I like that Ted is Getting his own Show. Thom Felicia, who was my fave on Queer Eye, has his own show on HGTV (I think) where he re decorates someone's shabby apartment using inspiration from their favorite clothes and stuff. The premise is pretty weak but I'd watch him drink milkshakes if they filmed it.

"ooh! i was so confused i even wikipediead brody to see if he turned gay. apparently no, but have 20 guys 'fight for his affection' and then get kicked out in a steamy pool of water with 20 of your closest guy 'friends' doesnt sound too straight to me." That premise confused me too. I didn't even notice it said guys and not girls and then wondered what the hot tub thing was about.

LOVErickii — Yeah, they vie for the chance to become a part of Brody's "entourage."

I think he'd be really boring to watch, but Sam Talbot from Top Chef would be pretty tasty to watch on tv some more.

I agree with jasmint...I love when Ted Allen guest judges on Top Chef and would definitely watch his show.

I will be watching Food Detectives and don't consider it part of the reality show universe. For actual reality television, I say just go away already.

I love Ted Allen! I'd watch him on anything.

i am just sick of reality tv, period. sure, i am a sucker and tune in occassionally but my life wouldn't be lacking a thing if it were gone (especially all the annoying commercials!)

I agree with you on Bridget. And CJ from the last season of Top Chef - he was always entertaining
