Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Emmy Poll

Who Should Win the Emmy For Best Lead Actor, Comedy?

For this year's Emmy nominations, I've been having you guys tell me why you think a certain actor deserves to take home the gold this year. You're doing an amazing job — and your arguments are figuring prominently in my Emmy breakdowns. For this round, I want you to tell me who deserves the statute for best lead actor in a comedy.

Interestingly, only one of the nominees is a newbie: Glee's Matthew Morrison. He joins veterans Larry David of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Steve Carell of The Office, Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock, Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory, and Tony Shalhoub of Monk, who have a whopping 23 nominations between them. It'll be Shalhoub's last chance since Monk is no longer on the air. Who do you think deserves to win?

I'm so happy Matthew Morrison got recognized for Glee's breakout first season. He's the heart of the show (not to mention uber talented), and Jane Lynch's one-liners would be nothing without Mr. Schue to banter with.

Larry David is a comedy legend. I can't believe he hasn't won yet for Curb Your Enthusiasm and REALLY hope that this is finally the year. He can't be Susan Lucci'd for much longer!

I love all of the actors in this category though if I 'have' to eliminate one from the batch I would choose Morrison. Not out of dislike, I just feel the others were better this past season and are more of a show vet than him (however if Glee goes just as well next season and brings his role more diversity rather than just longing for Emma, I would say he too is deserving of a 'nom' next year.)I am sort-of rooting for Larry and Jim with the possibility of Tony since Monk's final season and finale was quite interesting. I find them all entertaining.

As much as I would love to see someone different win this award....Alec Baldwin is just too unbelievably good!
