David Letterman is officially retiring from Late Show With David Letterman. He has been a late-night staple since 1982, when he first hosted Late Night With David Letterman on NBC before moving over to CBS, where he's been for 22 years. After a friendly anecdote about his family, some background about his decision, and many thanks to his fans, Letterman announced his plans to retire during a taping of tonight's show. "Sometime in the not-so-distant future," he said. "2015, for the love of God, Paul and I will be wrapping things up and taking a hike." Watch the host break the news in the video below:
