Desperate Housewives to End After One More Season — Are You Sad?

Our time on Wisteria Lane is about to come to a close. Desperate Housewives will end next May, making the upcoming eighth season its last. Creator Marc Cherry has always continued pushing the show forward, so it's a bit of a surprise — there was a time when it truly seemed like the Housewives were destined to go on forever.

I've been impressed with how well the show has held up over the years (the most recent season finale still managed to shock me), but Desperate Housewives has had a great run and I'm ready to say goodbye. Plus, it's always a bonus when a show knows that it's on the way out, leaving plenty of room for a perfect finale. How do you feel about the news — are you sad to see the show go?

It is possible that the producers of Desperate Housewives listen to the opinions of those of us who have been faithful viewers but if this was true the show would not be cancelled. For many seasons I have been disappointed that the storylines became so bizarre and the more interesting characters would disappear. The early seasons were amazing. I don't think that the producers ever read comments. When the ratings slipped, the writers and producers just changed the plotlines. Am I the only viewer to miss the days when Mike was a potential killer, crazy Zack was still around and Paul was never a nice guy? The viewers didn't stop watching the show; the producers killed the show by themselves.

Thank God. I'm not one to give up a show once I've started watching it, and I've been BEGGING for them to take it off the air.
