Does Sally Field's Emmy Make You More Interested in "Brothers and Sisters"?

Does Sally Field's Emmy Make You More Interested in "Brothers and Sisters"?

One of TV's great dysfunctional families returns to TV tonight when the second season of "Brothers & Sisters" premieres on ABC. Sally Field recently won the Emmy for best actress in a drama series, so I'm wondering: Does her win make you more likely to tune in tonight?

I've been watching from the very beginning so her winning doens't really change a thing for me.

I've heard good things about the show. Sally Field winning an Emmy didn't matter. I still wanted to give it a try this season. So, I watched it last night and now I'm hooked. Good show! All the characters balance the little things that annoy me about Rob Lowe and Calista Flockhart.

i love the show. i was already excited, but it's not popular, so it was a surprise - the emmy. it's really honest and about family, not dirty and not appealing to me personally like tell me you love me (which is total mess to my mind, that's not how it goes in my family).

No. I just don't like the show. It may have good acting, but I still find it boring.

I agree, last night's episode was really good! It was all about Justin without Justin even being there; and I loved how they kind of revisited Justin's family day at rehab episode where he played the tape his mom sent him on his first service in Iraq. Really an emotional episode. And, about the show - I didn't think I was going to be a fan of the show either. When it debuted last season, I had no interest in any of the cast members aside from Ron Rifkin, and certainly not for Sally Field and Calista Flockhart. On top of all the bad-terrible reviews I've read, and the fact that this was promising to be a family show (-1) with political undertones and the potential to be preachy and swaying to the left/right (-3), I thought this would be the first big show to fail. I was REALLY wrong. I watched the pilot and really saw that the pilot episode was made over, and haphazardly at that. But I was actually compelled by the characters. I returned the next week, and grew a little more optimistic. Then, the next week and finally decided that Brothers & Sisters is actually a pretty incredible show and my predispositions were completely shaken! Caliosta Flockhart and Sally Fields' characters I really didn't like, but it was not in a "kick them off the show" way. Rather more in a way that they are vital parts of the family that I just often times immensely disagree with or an completely annoyed by. Like family!

I'm not a big Sally Field fan, but I do like her in Brothers and Sisters. The show is not must-watch tv for me, but I watch when I can.

Love this show. I watched fro the beginning knowing it would be my kind of show - I am glad that Sally won the Emmy, but either way, I'd watch.

I'm sure the show is great, but I watch too much TV as it is. I like to get involved with a show from the very beginning, so if I ever feel compelled to watch it, I'll just throw the DVDs onto my Netflix queue.

I like the show and her speech hasnt changed my mind about it. But I didn't watch it at first because of Sally Field. For some reason she bugs me.

Love the first season and love her, so that's just bonus that she was awarded for her outstanding talent. Really a very touching show with great dynamic relationships. I just think Rob Lowe is the cutest as well!

I don't like her anymore, or any of her newer stuff. Older stuff fine, but I will not watch this show regardless of how many awards it/she wins.

I'm already a fan of Brothers & Sisters, so Sally Field's Emmy win was a bonus and well-deserved. I actually got into this show right when it debuted last year. Great cast (including Rachel Griffiths, Calista Flockhart, Balthazar Getty, and Rob Lowe) and the storylines are interesting, too. It's definitely worth watching, either live or on demand at abc.com.
