The 1 Detail From The Flash's Finale That You May Have Missed

The Flash's first season concluded this week, and with all the action and drama on the finale episode, you may have missed a special Easter egg. When Fake Harrison Wells is about to get into the time machine that will take him back to the future, a metal object falls out of the space-time wormhole that Barry creates. Joe asks what it is, and Harrison just says, "That's my cue to leave." So, what exactly is it that comes tumbling out of the wormhole? Here's the scene again, in GIF form:

According to the comics, it's a helmet that belongs to the original Flash, aka Jay Garrick. The character first appears in the series in 1940, and he lives in a different universe than Barry Allen, who debuted in 1956. Barry and the universe we know from the show is Earth-One, while Jay lives on and protects the residents of Earth-Two. The Easter egg could just be that — an inconsequential nod to superfans who would recognize it. However, it could also be a hint that Jay is coming to either the second season of The Flash or DC's spinoff, Legends of Tomorrow. What do you think?
